Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story Recap
“Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.” 1 Corinthians 10:6 (KJV)
But first, we must back up… Her husband, Damon (Tobias Truvillion), no longer satisfies her sexual appetite anymore. Even dirty talk is spoiled for her as he does not allow her to talk filthy.
At a launch party, she is shadowed by his need to take over her new spa, Urban Utopia. The couple is planning their wedding at their huge home. She always wanted to get married in her Grandfather’s church in the traditional way. The in-home wedding is Damon’s idea. A marriage counseling meet with Granddad (Clifton Powell) revealed some gaps.
One night, she wanted to spice up things at home and decided on some kinky role-playing. He stated that was his old life, and declined her. He redirected and asked her to pick up Trey, Damon’s old friend. She’s completely apprehensive of it since Trey just got out of prison for a seven-year bid.
Trouble in paradise…
In speaking with a friend, Tiffanie came to the realization that she desired sex in a relationship since she wanted more than 30 years just to have it. However, her sex life is “vanilla yogurt” and she’s looking for more flavor.
Just then, Trey arrives at the door. She forgot to pick him up. She dropped a glass and cut herself picking up the pieces. He quickly noticed it, and the yogurt on her lip. His gesture was foul as a friend, but he wiped it from her face and tasted it. He helped patch her up and seemed to advance at her. Just then, Damon announced himself and went to greet his old pal.
At lunch, the trio talk, and Tiffanie shares how she lost her parents and was raised by grandparents. Trey shares how he lost him and how Damon grew up with a silver spoon. With Damon’s back turned, he makes a few more advances at her secretly.
Tiffanie met with her Grandmother about the wedding, however, her guilt led her to open up to her about her pitiful sex life. Although Damon was her first and only, she felt he was not satisfying her enough. Grandmother reminded her with the Word to lean on for guidance. She asked if there was someone she was yearning for. Tiffanie answered, “No.” Grandmother leaned onto the Lord in all of her advice. Was Trey the Devil? Was he sent as a test?” Tiffanie intended to avoid him at all cost.
Tiffanie’s spa has hiccups after hiccup. At a meeting with her contractor, he shows her a high bill to rewire the place. However, Trey is there and offers to do it at no cost of labor. Tiffanie is open to it but Damon wants to hire Trey for another gig. Just then, Trey overhears the tail end of their conversation.
Later on, Tiffanie is listening to her sexual self-help video and Trey emerges. The next step is essential oils applied to the body, he takes the opportunity to sample her smell. Regarding business, he doesn’t take “No” for an answer. Regarding pleasure, he reaches in for a soft kiss on her neck. She has regrets of not turning him down immediately.
Tiffanie wants to talk about “light fixtures” with Trey. She visits his hotel and he answers the door oiled up, muscled, and in only a towel. He tries another advance but she miraculously gets out of the heated situation to visit her girls. Tonight is her surprise bridal party…
The girl talk led to talking about affairs. Confessions heeded her with advice that it’s not worth it. They reassure her with prayer and a toast. The guy talk revealed some animosity of Trey to the CFO of Damon’s company.
That night after sex, Tiffanie asked Damon for celibacy until marriage. This lead to a spat. She heads downstairs where Trey was at the door peering inside. She opens the door and he kisses her passionately. She abruptly wakes to Damon, this was a dream, and he agrees to compromise to the celibacy until marriage.
All she could do was think about that dream. She was neglecting, friendship, business, and marriage… she was self-destructing.
At lunch with Trey, she gave him a head massage which led to them kissing. All the while, she was missing an appointment with the wedding planner and her soon-to-be hubby. She completely forgot the meet and went to dress fitting where she ended up freaking out after realizing it.
Later on, Damon was gloomy and chatted with Trey about Tiffanie missing the meeting earlier. He told her she was at the spa, when questioned why Trey was at the spa, he explained he’s installing the lights. Something she decided to pursue despite Damon’s request. However, Damon did tell her she can make her own business decisions- he would only help if she asked. She never asked him…
In the middle of the night, Trey called Tiffanie to surprise her with the lights but she confronted him about the situation and fired him. That led to a physical argument, then a passionate kiss, and ultimately she ran away!
The next day she saw Trey and he had informed her he would be at the bar until midnight that night, her friend takes notice… That friend asks her about it and confessed she desired to sleep with him but tries to resist.
Tiffanie ultimately goes to the bar. Leads him to the elevator and the two make out on the car, all the way to his room. All the while Damon was calling. They were going all the way until Trey says to her, “What would Damon do if he saw you like this?” Tiffanie snaps back to reality. He confesses to her that he was vengeance. It seems Trey only got so close to her to get revenge on Damon for double-crossing him. He heeded her the warning and left before doing anything. Tiffanie was devastated…
The next day, Tiffanie was distraught and her Grandmother came to console her. Trey went to help out the groom and told stories of his night. Damon tried to speak of the past but Trey stopped him. I’m sure it’s because he wanted his ultimate plan to come together.
Tiffanie gathered herself and walked down the aisle. The best man foe was by his side. After seeing him she thought of what he said the night before and ran away. Everyone ran after her.
She told Damon how she messed up and cheated. He demanded to know who. Before leaving he confessed he gave her everything and it wasn’t enough. “I hope it was worth it… I hope he was worth it!” She didn’t tell him who the man was.
Being the snake he is, Trey asked Damon who it could be. A distraught ex-groom pulled out a gun and Trey feared it was meant for him. He vowed that the old Damon was back and left.
Life lessons learned…
The sermon at church seemed to be aimed at Tiffanie. It discussed temptation, but God is always there for a sinner.
Tiffanie’s friend convinced her to launch the spa despite missing the planned launch.
A knock at Trey’s hotel door revealed Tiffanie. She came to thank her for helping her find her true self, but hate that she hurt Damon in the process. She laid her hand on his heart to pray that he let his anger go. He resisted but allowed her to finish- he was moved by it.
Tiffanie called Damon and got his voicemail to confess her renewed love for him.
Henchmen snatch up Trey for a confrontation with Damon. They discuss the past and truths. This erupts into a fight vicious between the two. At gunpoint, Damon yields from killing the traitor, telling him he did not want to leave his son without a father. Yet left him a warning to never come around him and fled- leaving the old friend alive.
Damon finally met with Tiffanie to talk. They were both miserable without each other. They patch things in order to rebuild, again. Tiffanie needed to be herself and not what anyone else needed her to be. They remained celibate for a year then tried marriage again.
Months later, as they sold their home for new beginnings we see a baby bump. The film leaves us with a word from 1 Corinthians 10:6 (KJV).
