IRS Launches Website To Enter Direct Deposit Information For Stimulus Check

If you did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes here is the new IRS website to get direct deposit, and receive payment next week rather than waiting for a mailed check.

For security reasons we are sending you directly to the IRS.gov website to read more details about the form as we have summarized below. On this page, you will find a blue button that says “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here” follow that link. Thereafter, you will be instructed to create an account in order to give your bank information.

Why Is This Important?

Based on our news coverage and surveying people, we found there is a group of people in the minority who do not classify for direct deposits of stimulus checks, formerly known as Economic Impact Payments. These are non-filers, low or no income individuals, or those in debt with the IRS and have not filed in fear of owing back taxes. However, new legislation under the CARES Act states that back owed taxes will not disqualify anyone from receiving stimulus money. The only disqualifier is if an individual owes child support.

Please do not fill out: if you are on Social Security retirement, disability (SSDI), or survivor benefits or receive Railroad Retirement benefits. The IRS has your information and will automatically calculate your payment and send it. To reiterate, use the new IRS non-filers website if you fall into one of these categories:

  • If the IRS does not have your banking direct deposit information on file
  • You did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes yet
  • You made less than $12,200 ($24,400 for married couples) for 2019
  • You have no income, you are were not claimed as a dependent on someone else’s taxes, you are a citizen or permanent residents who with a social security number

For people who fall in these classes, it is important that they file using the IRS non-filers tool immediately as the first payments are projected to hit American’s bank accounts Wednesday, April 16th. Based on reports from government officials this is still on track. Thereafter, the next batch of payments is projected to go out ten days later. The first batch of mailed checks won’t start until May 6th. And it is projected to take up to 20 weeks for all eligible Americans to receive payments… you do not want to be waiting that long.

“Get My Payment” Is New IRS Tool To Track Stimulus Payments (Coming Soon!)

The IRS also announced a second tool (a website) called “Get My Payment” which will provide the status of economic impact payments online. This tool will track status as well as the delivery date of IRS direct deposits or mailed payments. The website is estimated to launch on April 17th. Update: the tool is now available! Stay right here, stay mixed in for developing updates when it will be available.
