2018 BET Hip Hop Awards Predictions

We’re excited for the opportunity to cover the red carpet at this year’s award show. In gearing up for the star studded event we’ve complied our own list of 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards predictions. The show will air on BET networks Tuesday October 16th at 8 pm ET/PT. Check out the BET Hip Hop Awards winners prediction list and come back to see the results of our guesstimates!

We already know for certain BET will be honoring Lil Wayne with the “I Am Hip Hop” achievement award off the cusp of his new album Tha Carter V. What we don’t quite know for sure are the actual winners (yet!) Stay tuned to the Celebrity Myxer for the exclusive on those. Based on nominations we have a gut feeling (along with propriety data predictions) who will take home awards this season. And without further ado, the predicted winners are…

Best Hip Hop Video

I think Donald Glover will continue his domino effect of picking up awards for this creative and socially conscious music video for “This Is America.”

Hot Ticket Performer & Album Of The Year

I’m going to have to side with my girl Cardi B for both of these awards… Snuffing out her bae’s rap trio album Culture II and Drake’s Scorpion album. The beat production, raw lyrical content, mass appeal, and of course the numbers solidify my prediction.

Lyricist Of The Year

This was a tough category for me to choose with Drake, Kendrick and Mr. KOD in the line up but I’ll have to give the winning nod to J. Cole!

MVP of the Year

Need I say more?!? Cardi B!

Single Of The Year

I predict Drake to win “Single Of The Year” with the ladies anthem “Nice For What.”

Best New Hip-Hop Artist

I think BET will honor our slain soldier XXXTentacion postmortem for “Best New Hip-hop Artist.”

Video Director Of The Year

The ‘All Eyez On Me’ movie director Benny Boom clinches the bid over some creative peers in this category.

Producer of the Year

Pharrell Williams wins my pick!

Best Collabo, Duo or Group

This is a competitive category. I’m struggling here with some of my personal playlist faves here. BlocBoy JB & Drake’s track is bananas, Cardi’s “I Like It” is fire. But our internal data nudges for The Carters “Apeshit” so I’ll have to choose that as my winner!

Best Mixtape

We’re siding with the guy who made mixtapes a force to be reckoned with… we think Lil Wayne’s “Dedication 6: Reloaded” takes the cake here.

Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse

My girl Nicki always spits fire and she laced it on YG’s “Big Bank.”

Impact Track

After his release from prison he quickly got back to the music and dropped an EP. Meek Mill’s “Stay Woke” featuring Miguel touched on several injustices. My vote is for Milly to come out triumphant here.

DJ of the Year

DJ Khaled!!! Bless up!

Made-You-Look Award (Best Hip-Hop Style)

I have to nudge for my personal fave… Remy Ma. This brown chick rocks and her style rocks even more. Go girl!

Best Hip-Hop Online Site/App

Hopefully the Celebrity Myxer will be one of the best entertainment media sites in this category in the near future. In the meantime we tip our hats to Complex. Watch out lbvs!

Hustler of the Year

Cardi B! Cardi B! Cardi B!
