Meek Mill Legends Of The Summer EP Released

Meek Mill recently dropped a new EP called Legends Of The Summer. The mixtape is his first since his controversial hold now release from prison in April 2018. It follows his July 2017 studio album Wins & Losses. Legends Of The Summer only has four tracks, however, if this quartet is a prelude to an album… it offers good range to dictate a dope Meek album. Here’s our breakdown of the songs:

“Milliladelphia” featuring Swizz Beatz will be a track to get fans chanting Meek’s name. The anthem asks and answers in his name. It’s classic Meek his fans want- energetic and rapid fire rhymes.

“Dangerous” features Jeremih & fellow Philly native rapper PnB Rock tag-teaming the vocals. This is a smooth song to ride and vibe to- discussing the nuances of Bae romances.

“1am” is a club dance joint. Your typical boast about money, cars, clothes and women. The hook gives a briefing of the celebrity party lifestyle.

“Stay Woke” features Miguel. We heard Meek perform this live in person at the BET Experience concert series at the Staples Center. In a nutshell, it describes issues of growing up disadvantaged as a person of color in America. It touches on an unjust judicial system, police brutality, false imprisonment, influencing new age rappers who tattoo their faces and pop pills, plus more topics. This track is a triumphant ode to Mill’s experience of being freed from prison. Noting Jay-Z and Eminem’s applaud support of his legal grapple and movement. He responds to the efforts as, “I did what I gotta do.”
