New Music: Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’ Long Anticipated Album Finally Released

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V is finally released on the rapper’s 36th birthday. It was first announced in 2012 on the cusp of his release of Tha Carter IV album. Fans endured long delays due to much legal controversy between Wayne and former mentor. After a five year hiatus it is finally available on all your favorite music platforms.

The new project features rhymes by Kendrick Lamar on “Mona Lisa,” Travis Scott on “Let It Fly,” and Snoop Dogg on “Dope Niggaz.” Nicki Minaj contributes vocals on “Dark Side Of The Moon,” plus XXXTentacion’s vocal hook features on “Dont’ Cry.” The album opens with a heartfelt voice message from Lil Wayne’s mother as she emotionally pours out her appreciation for him plus anticipation for the album.
