The Irishman will premiere on Netflix this fall. If you know anything about films all you need is this statement… It’s a gangster movie starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and directed by Martin Scorsese. All Academy-Award winners. This team is stacked like the ’17 Warriors.
The Irishman is an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran (De Niro), a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino,) and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.
Earlier this week Netflix teased us with set imagery from The Irishman shown above. In the first trailer, it shows the relationship of the made-men over time. Thanks for visual effects we see a young De Niro towards the ends of the piece. Martin Scorsese reunites again with Pesci and De Niro. Though, surprisingly, this is the first time Oscar winner Pacino has worked with Scorsese. Stay right here, stay mixed into the Celebrity Myxer for more exclusive insights to this picture as they develop.
