Previously on The Chi Season 5 Episode 4, Emmett helps Kiesha as she struggles with balancing motherhood and college. Trig and Shaad canvas the community. Jemma confronts Jake. Douda issues Tracy an ultimatum

On The Chi Season 5 Episode 5, Jemma tells Jake that she is pregnant. Jake wants to take care of the baby, but Jemma doesn’t want to keep the baby, and Jake is upset. Emmett is listening to Marshawn’s videos as Keisha cooks breakfast for them both. Emmett jokes to her that he’s going to take all of her money at poker night.
Shaad Is In Love
Kevin is getting around with Simone for a cosplay party. Jake asks Victor if Victor has ever knocked a girl up. Victor says no and reminds Jake to use a condom.
Shaad and Deja spend the day in bed relaxing and having a self-care day. Shaad expresses his feelings for Deja and tells her that he loves her. Deja tells Shaad that she loves him too.
Roselyn calls a meeting at ROCK. Community members are complaining that without the cops, too many packages are being stolen. She asks Douda and Q to find out who is running the porch-thieving business in the area before South Side asks for the police back.
Jake shows up at Kevin’s house and finds Kevin all dressed up for his cosplay event with Simone. Jake drops the bomb that Jemma is pregnant. Jake tries to comfort a sad Jake and tries to rationalize with him. Jake isn’t doing too well.
Jemma is questioning her decision to abort the baby, and Maisha tells her that she supports Jemma and her decision. She is upset that she’s hurt Jake and now she is scared that she wants to keep the baby too.
While at work, Emmett gets a gun pulled on him in an attempted robbery. Shaad recognizes the gunman as Bakari and talks him down. Bakari admits that he is homeless and has no money. Shaad offers him to stay on his couch. He tells Bakari that he will help him find a job.
Jake helps Kevin make a cosplay costume. Emmett tells Keisha that he got a gun pulled on him. Keisha offers to cook a home-cooked meal for poker night while Emmett takes a relaxing shower to reset.
Victor and Fatima are out for lunch, and she calls him out for not admitting that he was in love with a trans woman. She warns him to be honest, or the people will find out.
Shaad takes Bakari home, and they discuss their futures. Victor asks Fatima to keep their lunch date a secret. They kiss and head their separate ways.
Victor comes home, and Shaad tells him that he is letting Bakari crash on the couch. Victor is not happy about it but agrees. They head to Emmett’s together for poker night.
At poker night, Darnell tries to give relationship advice to Emmett. Douda and Q partner up with a group of thugs, and Tracy is livid. She doesn’t approve and calls Douda messy as she walks away from him.
Bakari calls Papa over to talk to him. He and Papa discuss Bakari’s hopes and his future. At the cosplay party, Kevin rocks the costume that Jake helped him create. Keisha is the MVP of poker night.
Celibate No More
Jemma and Jake tell her father that she’s pregnant. He tells her to think hard about her choice because she will live with her decision for the rest of her life. Jake still wants the baby.
Victor texts Fatima goodnight. Jake comes home and finds Bakari on the couch. Shaad and Victor have to stop them from fighting. Kevin and Simone win the best couple costume at the cosplay party.
After the poker party, Emmett and Keisha relax together on the couch. They start talking and explaining their feelings which leads to Emmett breaking his celibacy vows…
