Warning… spoilers below!
On The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 8, the paparazzi snapped flicked at a star tennis player, Sam Rhodes, but one reporter hinted at his secret. In private his doctor injected him and told him to visualize his success. Sam’s father came home to find him deceased with the needle still in his arm…
Accidentally Overdose
Cooper took another drug test and it revealed he was drugged. He shared with Lou that someone is aware they covered up the ballistics report. Cooper wanted to find who’s setting him up then go to the police. Lou searched surveillance footage at the bar Cooper attended that night and saw the bartender dropped something in his drink!
Reddington still had the phone of the man who shot Elizabeth. He needed answers. Then Red called Cooper about a case. He told them about the Boswell syndicate’s deadly physician, Dr. Razmik Meier. When sports bets don’t go their way, they hire him to “accidentally overdose” their threats. The team sought to look into the doctor.
Meanwhile, the nosey reporter, Stella Wong, tried to interview Sam’s girlfriend, but Meier was spying on her. He jabbed her with a needle. When she woke, he coerced her into giving him all the research she had on Rhodes and left her for dead!
Got Played
Dembe joined Reddington on the way to visit the Boswell’s and he asked about the letter. He bribed the man with a rare baseball. He claimed to not have seen the doctor for a few years.
Ressler and Park interviewed Sam’s family and learned of the reporter asking about him. A close friend of the family, Walker, was aware of the doctor and the reporter and offered to help agents with whatever they needed. The agents visited Stella’s place and found her unconscious.
Ressler noticed she had blank doctor’s prescription slips and got caught by Park trying to steal them. He’s struggling with drug addiction. Alina confronted him about it later on.
Stella died on the way to the ER and the coroner found a jump drive she ingested. More leads pointed them towards Walker’s athletic apparel company. They found the images on the drive and it pointed them towards another athlete, Annie Bolin. Meanwhile, Walker called Annie as head-ups but planned to meet with her.
Walker visited her and tried to calm Annie because she had been doping too. He attacked her and knocked her unconscious with chloroform. Flashback to Stella’s apartment when Meier killed the reporter and Walker confronted Meier at gunpoint, taking the evidence and leading him out of the apartment. Flash forward, agents Park and Aram just missed Walker thinking it was Meier they overlooked. Park ran out the back in search.
Walker came back in and acted like he wasn’t the villain and convinced Aram to join his partner while he finished Annie off. The team figured out Meier had an accomplice and returned to Annie’s in time to stop him from killing her and arrested him!
They found his car with Meier in the trunk with a bullet in his head, along with all of the evidence from Stella’s He was doping over thirty athletes…
Let It Go
Red arranged for Herman to come to them to cheer Merce up and make a feast for them. She returned with the information he tasked her to get. She pleaded that he didn’t open it and keep the peace. Thereafter, Merce packed her things to leave, knowing Red wouldn’t let it go.
Red sent Dembe a package… photos of the killer snapping surveillance photos of him giving the letter to Elizabeth. Red grilled Dembe for not protecting both him and Elizabeth only an hour after he had given him the letter. He was so focused on the betrayal that missed Van Dyke… the man who killed Elizabeth!
Cooper went to question the bartender and found him dead. The phone rang, and it was the real killer who had set him up for a second murder…
