JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series is written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. In each edition, the author changes the visual style of the graphic comic book. The original edition involved 17 volumes. Stone Ocean was preceded by Golden Wind and in future editions, we can expect it to be followed by Steel Ball Run.

As mentioned, Stone Ocean was confirmed to be animated. On live stream on April 4, 2021, during JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure the Animation Special Event: JOESTAR Inherited Soul this exciting news was announced. The anime will star Ai Fairouz as Jolyne. Here’s what she had to say about the confirmation:

So when I heard that I was going to be able to participate in the series, I was lost for words and surprised that “Even a Stand would be blown to the moon.” I cried so much as it was literally the moment my dream came true, which I have chased over for 12 years.”

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Plot
The sixth edition is set near Port St. Lucie, Florida in 2011. The story follows our protagonist Jolyne who is framed for murder. She is the daughter of Stardust Crusaders’ Jotaro Kujo. She is held at Green Dolphin Street Jail. It’s a maximum-security prison that gained the nickname “The Aquarium.” Similar to Alcatraz, it was built on an isolated island.
Things look grim for her as she is manipulated into serving a longer sentence. She is ready to accept her fate, but her situation changes when she nicks her finger on a piece of the magical bow Dio once possessed. This material is used to give Stand powers to other characters. Jolyne awakens her latent Stand powers, which is Stone Free. Stone Free looks like a cyan-blue Android wearing shades. It represents Jolyne’s tenacity to get out of “Stone Ocean,” her nickname for the Green Dolphin Street Jail.
Stone Free & JoJo
Stone Free possesses incredible power and speed. Additionally, Jolyne can unwind her body into an elastic thread. She uses this ability to slice foes or eavesdrop by picking up sound wave vibrations. She is equipped with the powers to free herself from this wretched prison. However, in her escape attempt, there are some bizarre phenomenons as well as epic battles.
In all, she learns that her imprisonment is a part of a larger scheme. It relates back to Dio, who was killed by Jotaro. His torment of her family extends beyond his grave as his loyal follower, Enrico Pucci, carries out his deeds posthumously. Jolyne must band together with unlikely allies for help in order to thwart evil plots to clear her name.
JoJo Part 6 Cast
The core characters in Stone Ocean are:
- Jolyne Cujoh – the main protagonist who is framed for murder. Her Stand power is Stone Free.
- Father Enrico Pucci – the main antagonist who is the warden of Green Dolphin Street Prison. He is a loyal follower of slain Dio. He is adamant about continuing Dio’s plans to kill Jolyne and her entire family line of Joestars. He possesses several Stand powers, which evolves. One power, Made in Heaven, allows him to speed up time accessing parallel universes.
- Hermes Costello – an inmate of the prison who purposely got sentenced in order to avenge her sister. Her power is Stand Kiss.
- Jotaro Kujo – Jolyne’s father who returns to stop Enrico Pucci and free his daughter. His stand power is Star Platinum.
- Foo Fighters – the Stand power of plankton.
- Emporio Alniño – a boy whose Stand power is Burning Down the House.
- Weather Report – doesn’t remember who he is but his Stand power is of his same name- which allows him to manipulate the weather.
- Narciso Anasui – is madly in love with Jolyne, but the sentiment is not returned. His Stand power is Diver Down.
