Warning… Spoilers below!
On the FBI: Most Wanted Season 3 Episode 14, this is Julian McMahon’s aka Agent Jess LaCroix’s must-see final episode!
Rampage
A teen rushed to beat his parents home since he snuck out to a party while they attended a fancy dinner party. Suddenly, a deranged man with a gun revolver felt the teen at gunpoint demanding to know who was the man from the hospital the previous night. The father didn’t know what he was talking about so the irate man shot the teen in the heart. The mother was next if he didn’t give the right answer…
Jess and Sarah had an empty nest with Tali off to boarding school. He had never taken a vacation in the few years they had been together (he was all about work). They decided to experiment with freebirding, taking an adventure to go someplace and make the trip all about themselves. Unfortunately, duty called and Jess had to head to New Jersey on a case.
LaCroix and the team got the call to the Johnson’s residence where all three had been murdered! The man had slain the entire family and even slept in their bed, fleeing in the morning. They learned the man was Harley Ross who was a junkie.
Harley broke into the home of the man he was in search of, Allen. He bound and gagged the man and his wife then played Russian Roulette with her. The man gave up a website… next FBI agents the couple murdered in cold blood!
LaCroix and Barnes investigated Harley’s last known location, a hospital when the abusive man became irate when Lucy was admitted. Allen and his wife were killed because he simply helped Lucy at the hospital. Dr. Johnson and his family were murdered because they treated the woman.
The agents searched the suspect’s home and it revealed he coped with liquor and drugs. They found blood and signs a woman possibly was living there. They found a busted laptop and hoped to find more clues on it. Soon they abandoned the theory of his murder spree being related to scoring drugs. They formed a new theory that his ex-girlfriend, Lucy Carver, was on the run from Harley. He was on a warpath in seek of his ex-girlfriend!
Angel Shot
The Feds investigated and learned the website was a front for abuse victims. Similar to an Angel Shot for Tinder dates, it acted as a safe haven to rescue victims of abuse.
Agents tracked the administrator down. She shared how the operation worked. It was designed to be anonymous. They ultimately found the woman who picked Lucy up. LaCroix was thankful for the network.
Meanwhile, Harley tracked the woman who transported Lucy by using the website. Harley attacked her and started to drown her in a nearby well. Agents just missed Harley and recovered the drowned woman. Ortiz chased after Harley but lost him.
Aborted
Tracking Harley’s moves led to an autobody shop where an ex-con he was once jailed with. The Feds tracked Harley’s location.
Meanwhile, Harley finally pinpointed Lucy who was banged up with a broken arm. She was seeking refuge with an elderly couple. Ortiz arrived first and enter the apartment, Harley killed the elderly couple and fled with her in their vehicle.
More investigation revealed Lucy had a baby and kept it from Harley. The team shifted towards finding the child. They got a hit because the child was put up for adoption and needed a bone marrow transplant. Lucy was contacted as a donor, Harley found out he had a kid and snapped wanting to meet her.
Agents LaCroix and Barnes corner their suspect on FBI Most Wanted Season 3 Episode 14
Harley stormed the hospital where his daughter Mia was. He saw her for a few seconds then agents burst in so he fled. LaCroix headed out the back and found Lucy bound. Harley ambushed him. LaCroix pulled his gun and fired while Harley shot several times. Other agents killed Harley, however, Jess LaCroix was shot in the neck… he died!
Agents Barnes and Gibson visited Sarah to break the bad news bearing Jess’ bloody FBI badge. The Bureau arranged a jet for Sarah and Byron to head to Tali’s boarding school and give her the worst news of her life…

Why?Why?Why did they have to kill him off? A contract dispute? So disappointed,
Well, that pretty much sucked! The daughter already lost her Mom, so why kill Dad. There is enough real rotten shit in our every day lives. Why, in the name of creative BS do we need to see it on TV too?
Yup very disappointed I’m no longer gonna watch this showatch the show I watch FBI and then I’ll find something else to watch bad decision by NBC
That was dumb to take the head star we enjoy watching out of the picture. Not too interested in watching anymore That sucks.
Yea I’m with you, I’m done 😡
I think Dick Wolf is an idiot! Does he think that shocking the viewers is in anyone’s best interest? I hope everyone stops watching FBI Most Wanted like me. It’s just like when he killed off Alvin on Chicago PD. Why does Dick Wolf keep screwing up?
This is one of my favorite shows, along with the original FBI. Jess dying will kill the show. I almost stopped watching when Nathan left but I continued because of Julian. Now I’m done for real. I have no interest in any of the remaining characters. Good bye
Agreed I’m done This was one of my favorite shows I’m done. Hope this sinks show.. They could have had him take a new job somewhere which would give him the opportunity to return at some point. But to kill him off especially with a young child who already lost her mother terrible writing decision. BAD move .
It sucked, I can’t believe they killed off Jess.
WTH, why did they have to kill him off, I was going to give Dylan McDermott a chance but not now, I’m done with this show, him and Sarah were planning to take a trip why couldn’t they just let them go on the trip and not return, I’m done 😡
Yes it was a shocking ending to Julian’s character on the show! Yes Jess Lacroix was a vital leading character. But I believe Dick Wolf and the creative team were simply portraying the grim reality of what can and does happen in law enforcement service. I will miss this character, but still think FBI Most Wanted is the best of the 3 FBI series!
Absolutely furious that they chose the death of Jess as a finale to his time on the show. We, as fans, deserved a humane ending. So many possibilities that would have preserved good feelings for us all. No dignity here. So disappointed in Dick Wolf.
Yea I’m with you, I’m done 😡
VERY Poor decision by Wolf but I wonder if he was even involved they just rubber stamp his name. but I will no longer watch this show not a fan of Dylan he’s a bad guy not the good. They could have written him off more appropriately.
My heart is broken 😞
Why? A vital person in the show! What were you thinking?
I couldn’t agree more, he was the only reason for watching this show. I can’t believe they killed him off. I’m done with FBI 😡😔
Just shows each of us how quickly life can violently change for these men and women who pursue the monsters among us.
Why, why??? Jess was the main and strong character of this show. Not too keen to continue watching the series.
Shocked when we watched!! We will or rather we have NO INTEREST in the show. Killing
Jess was worst way to have his character
depart! How about a vacation & then perhaps while enjoying their “dream” vacation, maybe
discuss & agree on a new career for him?
No further interest in any of the FBI dramas!
FBI MOST WANTED WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT JESS HE WAS LEAD OF THE TEAM , WHY CUT HIM OFF!?
I think it stinks. You could have retired him or promote him to another location. What happens to his family. You just lost a viewer.😢
WHY THEY HAD TOO KILL HIM OFF THE SHOW I’M GOING TOO FOLLOW EVERYONE ELSE LEAD I’M DONE WITH THE SHOW IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME RATINGS WILL BE DOWN AND THE VIEWS AS WELL ONE OF FAVORITE SHOWS THIS WILL BE TRAGIC🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Angry
Pure Rage!
This subject in this episode was extremely timeless. But killing off Jess, slightly unsuspected. I knew something was coming when his daughter went to boarding school. But I am outraged that he was killed off the show. Not extremely thrilled about Dylan McDermott taking his place. I really disliked the role he played in Law and Order: Organized Crime. But I will try to give it a shot…….
This was one of my favorite shows I’m done. Hope this sinks show.. They could have had him take a new job somewhere which would give him the opportunity to return at some point. But to kill him off especially with a young child who already lost her mother terrible writing decision. BAD move .
He was the show best actor in there.
This was a heartbreaking and perfect end to this incredible character. We fans need to be reminded from time to time that the real life versions of the characters we love live in danger due to their work. It may be difficult to separate the new guy from his role as a heartless criminal on OC, but I am definitely going to give the restructured team a chance.
If Jess is really dead, I’m so disappointed. He is my favorite character on the show. Not happy at all.
I am floored. I didn’t believe he was really dead until I googled it. I didn’t know Julian was leaving, I like to live spoiler-free as much as humanly possible. I was in denial thinking it was a dream or something, it couldn’t be true. It is HIS show, he IS the show. He’s why I watched it. It was bad enough when my 2nd fav on there Kellen Lutz left, but this is next level. The only one I like on there now is the new guy who replaced Lutz. I am angry 😡 at Julian rather than Dick Wolf. I mean, don’t headline a procedural if you don’t intend on sticking around for the long-term.
I was so disappointed 😢. He is the show and my favorite.
