On Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 4, Casey prepared to head to Oregon to get Griffin’s family back together. Brett wanted him to leave some things at her place when he returned.

Casey Quits Chicago Fire

Casey arrives at Griffin’s place and notices their messy living conditions. Griffin’s brother, Ben, was very dismissive of Casey. The fire chief tried to help the teen, even visiting his school to speak to his teachers and guidance counselor. However, he learned the state planned to place them in separate foster homes.

Casey volunteered to claimed the boys since he was once their guardian and wanted to bring them back to Chicago. The administrators disagreed with them moving again. They had been bouncing around for the past few years and recently got acclaimed with the recent place.

Later on, Casey found Darden and his old badges, it brought back heartfelt memories of the boys after their father’s death.

Unfortunately, Casey had to return to Chicago without the boys. He confided in Herrmann that he needs to move to Oregon to take care of the boys. This means Casey would be leaving the 51

Trapped

The fire team got a call that a man was trapped inside a car wash. Severide went into the wet wash and noticed his leg was wedged between the track and his car. First, they had to get the water turned off. They wenched the car high enough to see the man’s leg was crush and his inners were exposed. They got the man out of there and inside the ambulance. Severide noticed how Crews was back to his old form…

Ride Along

Chief Hawkins was convinced by Mouch to give Brett’s paramedicine program a second chance. He planned to ride along her ambulance to learn more about the EMT.

Brett and Kidd got a call and Hawkins tagged along. A homeless junkie was unconscious and they had to act quickly to save the man. Brett had to cut a few corners to treat him and Hawkins scribbled notes on his clipboard. They gave him Narcan and the man immediately revived. He pulled out a knife in fear of the EMTs.

He claimed that she was a theft. She managed to talk the man down and rid his knife. She had to explain things to Hawkins who scribbled in his notes.

The next day, Hawkins visited and Brett thought it was another ride along. He donated an old ambulance to her paramedicine program. Hawkins was impressed with Brett’s performance. She thought Casey put in the goos word, to her surprise it was Mouch.

Brett went to thank Mouch for the favor. She also asked him to help in her paramedicine program and he accepted.

The Irony

Lieutenant Walbeck arrived to pep the team-up in Casey’s absence. After a long day, the fire team went to the bar. Ritter met his boyfriend there who was feeling neglected since he was spending so much time at the firehouse. A guy at the bar noticed the men and immediately confronted them and their sexuality.

They all squared up and Herrmann heeded him a warning to back down or get his @ss kicked. Later on, Ritter and his partner were walking home and the man pulled up next to him, taunted the men, threw a bottle at them, and speed away in his supped-up Challenger. The car was up against powerful in his drunken state and he crashed violently into the cars across the street. Ritter’s instincts kicked into action and he ran to save the man. However, a fire started immediately and exploded knocking Ritter on his back.

He told his partner to get the fire crew while he jumped inside the car to help the trapped man. The fire team came with extinguishers to put out the blaze and help the two escape. Ritter tried to attend to his injuries but the man pulled away, Ritter walked away…

Ritter’s partner went to visit him at the station. He ultimately broke up with the Ritter… the fire wasn’t there anymore for the man.
