Cardi B Says We Need To Support Female Rappers Rapsody, Tierra Whack, Chika & Kamaiyah

So… Cardi B says we should support more female rappers. Especially those who could rap their [butts] off. In a social media post she specifically named female emcees Rapsody, Tierra Whack, Chika and Kamaiyah. She also put the onus back on fans for not wanting to hear certain content as well as us bloggers for not recommending them more. I’m personally glad she used her mega-platform to spotlight these ladies because we at Celebrity Myxer already know first hand of their dopeness and have been cherry-picking them for our audience to consume- thanks to our music expert TKaey.

In the rant Cardi describes how these rappers don’t rhyme about their vaginas like she does. To her own defense, she says at first fan’s didn’t connect with her song “Be Careful” off her uber popular Invasion Of Privacy album. It tapped into a deeper level of the performer’s emotions rather than trap braggadocios. In my opinion, it showed her vulnerabilities as a woman dealing with relationship issues we all have- irregardless of fame.

Rapsody

We first recommended Rapsody on an article for a song “Sojourner” she did with J Cole. Not that the lyricist needs Cole to shine but it speaks to her caliber. He’s built a reputation of murdering tracks, thus some peers don’t want to collaborate with him in fear he’ll out-rap them. There’s no worries with Rapsody. She can rhyme your favorite rapper under the table. Myself and Tkaey have personally been rocking with her for some years now. I remember her from the days when Nicki Minaj first came out and Hip Hop heads were saying Rapsody was the only female rapper that could out-bar her. But enough of the comparisons it’s about uplifting each lyricist’s talents. Here’s a few dope tracks by Rapsody you should definitely listen to “Hard To Choose” and “Godzilla.”

Tierra Whack

Tierra Whack is a soulful Hip Hop artist. She’s so dope we included her visual album Whack World on our top Hip Hop albums list last year. “It’s one of the most creative videos I’ve seen in a while,” describes Tkaey in reference to the project. “Her style is eclectic. Being different in music these days is the new black and she has that appeal,” further explains the expert music editor. This track is something you simply have to watch to interpret yourself. Another track you should check out is “Unemployed.”

Chika

We first learned of Chika at the BET Hip Hop Awards last year. The dope emcee was participating in a cypher and we interviewed her. We’ve been watching her progress ever since. Her success is a ticking time-bomb waiting to happen. Here’s a recent track we’re digging of hers called “High Rises.”

Kamaiyah

Kamaiyah is pretty new to our radar but you might remember her from the YG track featuring Drake called “Why You Always Hatin?” She has a new track with Quavo and Tyga called “Windows.”

There are plenty other female rappers we can add to this list such as Che Noir who we recently reviewed, Jean Grae has a deep visual track you should watch called “My Story“, we can’t forget Ill Camille, and Dreezy who we interviewed.

Cardi B is right! We should support female rappers as some of them are far better than male counterparts. We’ll continue to do our job of recommending dope emcees. Chop it up with us in the comments below!
