On 61st Street Season 1 Episode 3 “Barefoot and Dangerous”, Norma and Josh are hysterical as Brannigan takes Moses away in cuffs. Norma tells Franklin to do his job, and be Moses’ lawyer.

Johnny is getting drunk, listening to the wire Micheal was wearing when he died. Johnny starts to wonder who the Faction is paying for their free crime pass in the South Side. Brannigan talks to Moses on the ride to the station about Micheal.

20 Minutes Alone

Moses arrives at the station and Brannigan asks for 20 minutes alone with Moses. Brannigan calls Johnny and tells him to get to the station now.

Brannigan tells Moses that he knows Moses is just a scared kid. Brannigan has went ahead and wrote out a statement for Moses to sign to show Moses is going to cooperate. Moses doesn’t want to sign the paper, and Brannigan threatens Moses that the other cops could arrest Norma, Josh, and Moses’ friends if Moses doesn’t cooperate.

Franklin arrives too late! Moses has signed the paperwork! Johnny shows up and wants to know exactly what Moses said.

Franklin Quits

Moses tells Franklin that Brannigan was just trying to help Moses out. Franklin confronts Brannigan, and Brannigan threatens to press charges on Franklin unless Franklin leaves.

Martha calls Franklin, wanting to know why Franklin’s doctor, Dr. Algreen keeps calling for Franklin. Franklin lies and hangs up seeing a ticket on his windshield. Franklin tells his boss, Jack, that he quits, because the public defender’s office won’t give Franklin Moses’ case.

Martha holds another rally and calls out Peter Sessions, a lawyer. Martha says that Peter and the police are scared of Martha and her movement. Peter overhears Franklin telling Martha that he took Moses’ case. Peter tells them, they are quite the pair. One running for office on the platform of defunding the police, the other defending a cop killer.

Keep Quiet

Brannigan and Johnny are drinking to Micheal. Johnny asks what Brannigan talked to Micheal about the last time they talked. Brannigan lies and says they talked about Micheal’s upcoming vacation, and Brannigan offered Micheal his cabin. Johnny knows Brannigan is lying!

Johnny’s dad is leading the funeral service for Micheal. Afterward, Johnny tells him, that Micheal was wearing a wire when he died. Johnny’s dad tells Johnny to keep quiet or Micheal’s family could lose everything.

Jessica finds Johnny in Micheal’s office. Johnny tells Jessica that Micheal was wearing a wire when he died. Johnny realizes that Jessica knew about the wire. One of Jessica and Micheal’s kids overhear this.

Tutu’s Funeral

Josh and Norma arrive for Tutu’s funeral. Johnny sees them go inside the church and follows them inside. Nation members are not happy to see Johnny at Tutu’s funeral. Johnny realizes whose funeral this is, and now knows that the Nation informant Micheal named to Brannigan, is the one Brannigan and his men shot the day Micheal died. Johnny goes straight home and relistens to the wire again. He knows Brannigan took out Tutu.

Dr. Algreen finally gets Franklin to come in. Dr. Algreen informs Franklin it is cancer! Dr. Algreen isn’t sure if it’s spread, but it is an aggressive form of cancer!

$1,000,000 Bail

Martha comes home to find Peter interviewing David! She is livid. Martha starts pushing Peter off her property and Peter has his photographer start snapping pictures.

Franklin shows up at Moses’ bail hearing. The judge deems Moses a flight risk and sets bail at a million dollars! Norma tells Franklin that she will raise the bail money.

Martha calls Dr. Algreen herself, and Dr. Algreen informs her that Franklin has cancer! Martha is shocked, she didn’t even know Franklin was sick!

A Witness

Norma confronts TJ about trying to turn Moses in and involving Josh. Norma tells TJ to stay away from her family or she will kill TJ herself. Norma goes home and starts making fundraising shirts for Moses.

Brannigan knocks at Johnny’s door, asking why Johnny went to Tutu’s funeral. Johnny tells Brannigan he was just upset. Brannigan tells Johnny that he will be keeping a close eye on Johnny.

Franklin revisits the crime scene where Micheal died. Franklin sees the surveillance cameras and meets Calvin, the witness to Micheal’s death. Franklin tells Moses that the statement Moses signed isn’t a confession but Moses’ defense. Franklin goes home and Martha confronts him about his cancer diagnosis. They are both scared.
