Toronto Raptors Are The 2019 NBA Champions!

The Toronto Raptors are the 2019 NBA champions for the the first time in their franchise history! It was an amazing bout between the two teams. The Raptors won on the road defeating Golden State at home in Oracle arena. The series went to game six ending 4-2.

Ultimately, the series was fated by the state of healthy players. We saw a shift in momentum when Kevin Durant made a comeback in game five- lighting the first half up before re-injuring his Achilles heel. In game six, Golden State lost Klay Thompson to a knee injury late in the third quarter. This was significant to their momentum as he was in the zone. He landed awkwardly after a dunk attempt. He was able to return to make his two free throws (receiving a huge ovation) but later left the stadium in crutches. Kawhi Leonard has solid the entire series on both defense and offense. Leonard is named the Finals MVP.

We cannot forget to mention Drake being the most obnoxious yet ultimate fan reppin’ for his city. The native Canadian rapper really showed up and showed out throughout the season and especially the finals. He was sideline coaching, threw emotional tantrums, talking smack to players and even released two new songs in lieu of he it. It made for good entertainment and Twitter fingers for onlookers.

Who was your team? Are you sulking or celebrating right now? What did you think of the Toronto Raptors as NBA Champions?!? Talk smack in the comments below!
