John Singleton’s Family Ends Life Support. He Passes Away

The family of John Singleton has decided to end life support after suffering from a stroke earlier this month. The acclaimed director, producer and screenwriter became the first African-American filmmaker, and the youngest person ever, to be nominated for a best-director Oscar, for movie “Boyz N the Hood.”

“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken off of life support today. This was an agonizing decision, one that our family made, over a number of days, with the careful counsel of John’s doctors.” -Family statement

Celebrity Myxer first met John in person at the red carpet season two premiere screening of FX’s Snowfall television drama series- which Mr. Singleton created. His passion and down to earth energy stood out. Watch my interview with him and I think you’ll concur.

Update: John Singleton has passed. We’re thankful for his creative contributions and pray for his family. 🙏🏾
