Music artists from around the country can submit their original music and performances for entry consideration from February 25th – March 5th. Music enthusiasts and industry heads will vote weekly on their top picks to advance to the finale.
The weekly vote casting will start on March 16th. The social media competition will dwindle down the top 50 contestants. The top 5 artists, however, will be selected on April 6th for a chance to compete and perform virtually on BET’s IG Live. Don’t pull a Teddy Riley on us lol… Anywhooo… the winner will be crowned on April 13th on BET.com and all digital platforms.
This is a great opportunity for any unsigned music artist. If you know anything about BET’s track record when it comes to artist support, then you know they fully back an artist. We’ve seen firsthand from covering many of their events. For example, Kiana Ledé graced more intimate stages at BET shows- then rose to showcase Black Girls Rock and even crown the big show at the BET Awards. Other familiar artists who’ve benefited from BET’s live showcase performances include Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Rapsody, Pink Sweat$, Chika, and many more.
