LIVE last year it was beyond amazing- with so many events, live performances, special sessions, and of course celebrities galore. This year’s event ups the ante. Spanning the dates of June 20-23rd the annual festival will include the return of Genius Talks, BET Experience 3-on-3 Celebrity Basketball Tournament, Celebrity Dodgeball Game, BET X House of Fashion & Beauty, Coca-Cola Music Studio, DJ Hed presents Kicksperience sneakerhead experience, a Casting Call along with newly added activations- Roller-skating Party, Next Rap Star.

We showed you guys T.I. and Omar Hardwick’s session at last year’s Genius Talks. Sports journalist Jemele Hill returns to moderate insightful discussions with industry mold-breakers. This year, Lena Waithe (THE CHI), Yara Shahidi (Black-ish & Grown-ish), and Marsai Martin (Little & Black-ish) will share their knowledge and keys to success with fans.
If you’re in LA during June 20th through June 23rd you must grab your free wristbands here. There are more events that require additional purchases including a 3-on-3 Celebrity Basketball Tournament, plus there are three epic nights of concerts at the Staples Center. On Thursday, June 20 the star-studded all-female line-up titled “Ladies (U)nite!” includes Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Queen Naija and Bri Steves. On Friday, June 21, Meek Mill, YG, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Blueface (Roddy Rich recently added) are set to take the stage by storm. On Saturday, June 22, Cardi B, Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, City Girls and Trippie Redd will close out the BET Experience STAPLES Center concerts.
At the Coca-Cola Music Studio stage will be live performances by some of the hottest emerging musicians including; Elhae, Killumantii, TJ Porter, Ceraadi, Bobby Sessions, Earth Gang, Control the Sound, Happy Birthday Calvin and other special guests. The McDonald’s stage will feature BJ The Chicago Kid and other guests.
DJ Hed will have host something very special for sneakerheads. The experience will also include performers like Rapsody,1TakeJay, AzChike, Azjah, GPerico, John Hart, Morgan Westbrook, Reason, Sneakk (SOB X RBE), Villain Park, Yhung T.O., Shoreline Mafia, Cupakke, Kamaiyah, and more!
There will be a gaming tournament as well where fans can compete with and against gaming influencers in a variety of games from NBA2k to Fortnite including iPodKing Carter, The Lopes Brothers, Cheeseaholic, iDropzBodies, Bunnny MightgameU, Sunzi, Black Krystel and more.
There will be a competition called “Next Rap Star” seeking the best talent to win a distribution deal with Island Records and the chance to perform at the 2020 BET Experience.
Although there won’t be tickets available for purchase, keep in mind, this weekend will also film the live taping of the BET Her Awards as well as the BET Awards (here’s the list of nominees.)
