Chaka Bars To Receive “International Global Good Award” At 2019 BET Awards

Chaka Bars will be honored with the “International Global Good Award” at the 2019 BET Awards. The Global Good Award is BET International’s recognition of public figures who champion initiatives enacting positive social change and awareness. The 31-year-old UK based Instagram activist/Pan African developer champions several initiatives. One is @spartanfam, a fitness movement built upon bringing the benefits of exercise and nutrition to under-served areas of inner-London. Another initiative he created was charity boxing events to help preserve struggling orphanages and refurbished medical centers in two heavily under-resourced areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Chaka Bars also founded iHeartAfrica in 2017 and built an eco-village for orphans. This project is still in motion and supported by Lenny Kravitz, Stefflon Don and the FuseODG. In that same year he created a social good imitative #LoveArmyForSomalia, which is a social media army that has brought crisis aid to over 80,000 people in Somalia. He’s also championing @FruitzNRootz which teaches healthy eating habits.

Chaka Bars joins past honorees including musician Akon, model Millen Magese and NBA player Bismack Biyombo. The ceremony will commence at the red carpet pre-show taking place Sunday, June 23rd in LA.
