American Express has teamed up with the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) to launch ByBlack, a digital platform that allows customers to find American, black-owned businesses. This is a novel way for entrepreneurs to reach and seek out new customers on an unprecedented scale. How does ByBlack work?
In order to begin the process, any business needs to provide some valid form of identification and show that they have a majority stake (51 percent) and are black-owned. Once that is done, the process takes around 30 minutes to complete as users are walked through the online platform. And in doing so, users are given the opportunity to network with like-minded organizations within their sphere.
