‘Bumblebee’ Movie Hits Theaters Christmas

Bumblebee is a prequel spin-off movie of the Transformers franchise. It adds some background to the yellow VW Bug battle bot in disguise. While on the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. ‘Bee’ befriends a young protagonist Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and sparks an adventure to protect himself from capture by Decepticons and mercenary human allies. Bumblebee movie hits theaters December 21st 2018 in time for Christmas.

This is an origins story showing how Bee was one of the earliest AutoBots to land on Earth, understand and accept humans. Unlike the previous installments, Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight- rather than the action-packed eye of Michael Bay (however Bay is one of the producers of the film.) Watch this explanation featurette from the director.
