2023 Black Music Honors: A Night of Excellence Celebrating Music Icons

Music legends are set to be honored at the 8th Annual 2023 Black Music Honors event, taking place at the prestigious Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, May 19. Co-hosted by double Grammy winner LeToya Luckett and comedy stalwart DeRay Davis, the ceremony celebrates the exceptional achievements and contributions of urban music artists.

This year’s honorees include hip-hop megastar Missy Elliott, R&B powerhouse trio SWV, disco sensation Evelyn “Champagne” King, R&B/Soul crooner Jeffrey Osborne, and gospel trailblazers The Hawkins Family. The event is produced by Central City Productions and will also mark the launch of their Stellar Network TV.

Founder and Executive Producer Don Jackson expressed his excitement for the upcoming celebration of Black Music Month, emphasizing the exceptional opportunity to display the vast range of talent present in the Black music community. He added that the event’s captivating performances will not only represent the bright future of Black music but also honor the unforgettable legacies and diverse contributions of legendary musicians.

The 2023 Black Music Honors promises a night filled with exceptional performances, emotional speeches, and unforgettable moments. The televised special will premiere on the Stellar Network on June 3rd and will air nationally from June 10th to July 2nd, in honor of Black Music Month. It will also be broadcast on Bounce TV on June 19th (Juneteenth.)
