Warning… Spoilers below!

On Titans Season 4 Episode 3, after their explosive fight against Mother Mayhem, Rachel is left white-haired and powerless, her signature red diamond missing from her forehead. When she wakes up in the Titan’s RV, Rachel realizes she’s lost her powers, she can’t feel any of the Titans with her magic.

In Metropolis, Mayhem’s follower kills two guards using her blood magic, both of them coughing and choking as they died. At the temple of Azarath, Mother Mayhem deposits Rachel’s stolen power in a diamond encased in the cave and claims that tonight they will take back what’s theirs

In the RV, Rachel explains that her soul-self is gone, and Dick promises the Titans they’ll prepare before fighting the witch again. He tells an ecstatic Tim that he can start his Robin training today at STAR Labs, and he and Kory head out to find Jinx, Dicks friend from Gotham.

Sebastian Sanger, emotional over the loss of his mother, sprinkles her ashes in the ocean. Before leaving, he gets a phone call from Bixel, the company that rejected him and now wants to buy his game. Secretly, the call is coming from Mayhem inside the temple of Azarath.

Normal is Overrated

Dick is scared by Rachel’s loss of magic, so they head to a max security prison to find Jinx, a thief from Gotham who travels in magic circles and may be able to help. Jinx has never been outside solitary confinement and immediately uses her magic to escape in a swirling tornado.

Nightwing is sure that she’s off to try and steal the goods she got busted for in the first place, and he and Kory head out to find her. Back at the RV, Gar feeds and watches over Rachel, who feels a little bit freer without her powers now that she can’t constantly feel everyone’s pain.

Rachel wonders if she would have a better life without her powers but feels a bit guilty about her responsibilities as a Titan. While she and Gar talk, he hears whispering voices again and comes clean to Rachel about the red world he sees when he transforms.

The voices Gar hears say, “join us,” and like the skinwalkers in Navajo culture, he thinks they’re communications from his animal side. From their tone, Gar thinks the voices can teach him to help the Titans beat the witch if he can find a way to hear them more clearly.

Out Of Our League

At STAR Labs, Tim and his bow staff take on Connor in VR while Bernard, the amused and very flirty STAR Labs assistant, tries to help him get stronger. While there, he and Connor hear about the break-in and the murdered guards, and Connor investigates the barrels of blood.

Meanwhile, Jinx maneuvers through high-security laser beams and opens a sealed concrete door to steal something, but Dick and Kory take it before she can. Dick asks her to help them and promises the object she wants is hers if she’ll help them understand Mayhem’s magic.

Unfortunately, Kory opens the box Jinx was after, which is a heart belonging to a dark elf, and it immediately turns her to stone. Jinx knows someone who can help, and Dick reluctantly leaves Kory in the vault to hunt down Lionne, the elf who put the heart in the box in the first place.

When Sebastian shows up at Bixel, the man in charge has no idea what he’s talking about and says he didn’t call him. When Sebastian argues, the man from Bixel stabs himself in the eye with scissors, making Sebastian look guilty of murdering him, and he gets taken away by MPD.

Back in the woods, Rachel decides she doesn’t like being normal since she can’t feel anything around them in the forest. Meanwhile, Gar sees the entire sky turn red, and when he takes Rachel’s hand, she sees it too. They keep heading through the trees toward Gar’s voices.

At STAR Labs, Bernard teases Tim while Connor searches the internet for the symbols carved into the barrels of blood and on the walls of the slaughterhouse. He’s sure that the people being attacked are all related if they can find out how and why. Bernard cancels his lunch plans.

On the way to meet the dark elf, Jinx teases Dick about their old adventures in Gotham, and it’s clear they had a mistrustful and personal relationship when they worked together. Dick describes the witch to Jinx, and she tells him the Titans are way out of their league with magic.

To meet the elves, Jinx unlocks a secret door in a parking garage that opens into a club full of the occult. Meanwhile, Kory’s magic begins to manifest in her mind while she’s made of stone, and she finds herself outside the famous Elko’s diner, where her entire story began.

There, Kory finds Zadira, her trainer from Tamaran, who tells Kory that only she can save the Titans Zadira claims that when “the red moon fills the sky,” Kory’s true fight will begin and that she needs to have patience, her true destiny will soon be revealed, and Dick is a part of it.

At the lab, Connor finds the occult symbols carved at the crime scene in Sebastian Sanger’s videogame, and Bernard realizes he has the same genetic mutation as the witch’s other victims. When they try to find him, they realize Sebastian has just been arrested for murder by MPD.

At the dark elf bar, Dick asks to see Lionne and ignores Jinx’s warning about outsiders being frowned upon before walking right into her trap. The elf Lionne orders Dick’s death and refuses to de-stone Kory, so Dick fights off multiple elves before fighting with Lionne herself.

Dick manages to win the fight and realizes that Jinx has set him up again and could have undone the spell herself. She has a death mark, meaning that if she doesn’t pay five million dollars, she’ll be hunted until death. Dick wires her the money in return for her help with Kory and the Titans.

Jinx agrees to help, and back in the vault, she free’s Kory from stone. Kory is less than happy to be working with Jinx, but they don’t have time to argue since Connor and Tim have news about Sebastian. Dick realizes Sanger was set up, and Connor wants to go after the witch on his own.

Dick warns Connor not to attack the witch and that their play is to go to Metropolis PD and get Sebastian from there before she can. Before they arrive, Ms. Bennet drops by to collect Sebastian and gets him to trust her, claiming she knows about his game and believes in him.

Ms. Bennet tells Sebastian if he’d like to change the world with her, all he has to do is ask her to make it all go away. She tells him to say Azarath, Metrion, and Zinthos, the beginning of the chant for the temple of Azarath. At the last minute, Connor busts in and rescues Sebastian.

After hiking through the red forest, Gar and Rachel find the tree hanging with skeletons that Gar saw in his vision. The skeletons are trophies collected and slaughtered by a dark force, and Gar hears the voices say, “when the blood moon is full, the world will follow you.”
