In the previous season of “The Chi,” Douda took out Q, his predecessor, and enlisted Emmett to expand the business while bringing on Bakari as a lieutenant. Lynae was formally adopted as Kevin planned to use his gaming winnings to move out. Victor revealed his budding relationship with Fatima while running for office.

On The Chi Season 6 Episode 1 Premiere, starts with morning lovemaking, varying between couples. Emmett grapples with managing business and family, and Victor frets about his election odds. Conversations about complacency occur between Darnell and Jada, and Jemma faces off with her father over a pet name used in their sessions.
The grand opening of Smokey’s sees Douda giving Emmett a fashion upgrade and a new Mercedes via a broker, a reminder of the company he keeps. Victor’s campaign manager, Quincy, played by Thomas Mackie, is confident in Victor’s chances of winning, suggesting a viral moment to boost popularity.
Kevin, excited about his newfound independence, struggles with the realities of adult life. Marcus and Tierra clash over her vocal expressions during sex, and Tierra balks at meeting Jemma officially. Keisha is late on her first day at her new job and informs Emmett about it at the opening.

Papa is attracted to an older coworker, who reciprocates his feelings. Victor’s appearance and speech at the event turn sour when Papa accidentally spills a drink on him, creating the viral moment Quincy envisioned.
In a gathering of ladies enjoying wine and conversation, Tracy expresses her readiness to be alone after dealing with Douda. Keisha is unhappy about Emmett’s failure to discuss major decisions with her, like the new car he bought for Tiff (his ex and baby’s mother.) The revelation that the car was stolen is soon to be discovered.
Shaad feels inadequate living in his girlfriend’s home without employment. Tierra and Jemma’s meeting arranged by Marcus ends explosively. After Kevin’s housewarming party, he and Maisha share a passionate kiss. In an exciting turn of events, Victor wins his election.

Emmett’s purchase of a car for his child’s mother sparks a fight with Keisha. He turns to Douda, who advises him on managing relationships with all his women, including his children’s mothers. A shocking event unfolds when Douda kills a disrespectful subordinate in front of a horrified Emmett.
In a twist, Douda and Tracy resume their intimate relationship. The morning after, Tracy finds herself pondering a video featuring Eartha Kitt discussing the idea of compromise in love…
