Previously, we received confirmation via this video. According to Deadline, Showtime officially renewed The Chi for a fifth season after the airing of the season 4 finale which averaged 4.2 million weekly viewers. According to the network, it is on pace to become Showtime’s most-streamed series ever.
The Chi Season 5 Speculations
Douda fled the Chi for now… Will Douda really just leave? He’s a gangster and a murderer. Do we really think he will simply leave and not try to get rid of Trig? Or Marcus for that matter for his throne?
Roselyn now sits behind the Mayor’s desk. How will she run the city in Douda’s absence?
Marcus woke up from his coma, will he expose the Mayor? Will he be silenced now that he’s a key witness?

I binge watched this show to get caught up to season 4. I live in Florida but I’m from Chicago. This is my absolute favorite show. I’m addicted to it. The finale made me tear up. I hope it comes back. The acting, directing and story lines are Phenomenal! Please renew this series.
I became a fan after being introduced to the series by my college daughter who is currently scheduled to do her Masters in film at Columbia College in Chicago. She thought the dialog was excellent and having watched it, I think so too. I’m not sure how I feel about season 4, but I think the writers have that freedom and it was still something to talk about.
You definitely have to come back with session 5.A must! There is still to much to be known.

I absolutely love this show! At first I refused to watch it, just thought it was another ‘ Black folks ain’t nothing but killers, druggies and the women are loose! Yes, there is that, but it also depicts that we are so much more and so capable! We BEED THIS SHOW, I LOVE IT! I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KEVIN, POPPA & JAKE!

Season 3 was the best ever. Season 4 struggled not because it was not good but Season 3 just took everything. They need to end now.

I honestly believe that if and when Emmett finds out the details about the extent of Tiff and Rob’s situation if Emmett doesn’t end it in Season 5 of the Chi then Emmett might not believe that he deserves better than the way he thinks Tiff treats. I believe in a way Emmett is right in wanting different between him and Tiff but at the same time he can’t be mad at Tiff really because she told him that she’s not going to stop sleeping around when she said “Forever is a long time how about we just try to be faithful…..” If you pay enough attention to what people are saying they will tell you and show you how they really are.
Absolutely right. Also, Tiffany’s answer to Emmett was contingent on Dante’s reveal of their relationship. Emmett said “Dante or me”…what he should have said was “Any other man on this planet or me”.
I just want to change gears for a moment. The guy that stepped to Shaad and Imani, did he kill Ronnie? I also think the closing of the trap house will reel its ugly head. Imani may have a target on her back.

I loved The Chi seasons 1-2. Seasons 3-4 Sucked so bad. Unnecessary stories just went away from the real ness it had in seasons 1-2.
I absolutely love this it’s teaching my children what it’s really like in Chicago they are biracial and we are in a 90 percent white community. My sons really appreciate this series and they laugh about the boys because they are funny and so different. I love how Keisha is so brave and had the baby and met a nice guy emmit he is so adorable and he is being dogged so badly granted he did it to himself sometimes it gets to the point you just get tired. I hope Kevin and that girl get together they are a very cute couple even though I think the roles should be mixed Jemima with kev and Jake with the other girl but I do like the other girl I do t care for jemma she just seems snooty spoiled rotten who thinks she k ows all about life but don’t know nothing. CHI is fantastic show I am from CHI TOWN but just like a lot of great shows it seems the writer’s get lazy the last two seasons too many unrealistic stoy lines the one saving grace are the actors this thing with Duda becoming Mayor is ridiculous and then he’s going to dissappear the show could have a lots more life left or just another season

Been glued since season 1! It got better each season. I am so excited that I got renewed. This is a show that brings about all types of issues in a negative light but always comes out solving it in a positive light. People really need to see that there’s more to black people then violence. Our kids have issues that others don’t have to face. I’ve never lived in Chicago but it is a place that I’ve always wanted to move to because of its rich heritage. As a teacher I see a lot of these issues displayed in real life. This gives teens a look at something positive whether it starts out that way or not. I love The Chi!

Something is telling me that Emmett and Tiffany are gonna really break up this time after he finds out she’s still messing around with other dudes and I know this might sound crazy but I feel like he and keshia are gonna start messing around with each other again and her new boyfriend is gonna catch them in the act and then keshia is gonna decide that she doesn’t really wanna be with him and he get so upset and he’s so hurt that he eventually starts stalking her
Something is also telling me that Jada wasn’t being completely truthful about what the doctor told her on the phone. The look on her face after she got off the phone and while Emmett was celebrating kinda said a lot that she only told him what he wanted to hear bc she didn’t wanna break his heart. I really hope I’m wrong but we’ll just have to see.

I loved the show and like most I binged watched it from beginning to end.. I love the creativity with most of the story lines. One thing I hated to see was Jake and Jemma.. He should not of did that to his best friend. Even though shit like that happens I felt so bad for Kevin. Friendship over for me! But they got them working on their friendship.. and at first I was down with Tiffany giving Emmett a taste of his own medicine but now she just being outright disrespectful. I ain’t gonna lie I can’t sTand Doula but ..lol he can get it ..lol the Kesha situation.. yea I’m not sure she is someone who should of kept the baby.. some women could of handled that situation but I don’t knowing keisha is one. I just binged watched all 4 seasons. I’m invested now, but hate Season 5 won’t return until next year. I’m going to have to catch another deal next year on Showtime.
Forgive me if my thoughts are all over the place, but I’m giving my 2 cents on all seasons and they may not be in sequence.
1. Can anyone explain what happened to Sonny’s brother? His storyline was gone when Season 2 started.
2. Did anyone else think Keisha’s kidnapper was the coach? How did ol boy end up with so many tracksuits?
3. Douda is a messed up individual and as much as I can’t stand him, I started to have some compassion for him because I thought he had a change of heart behind his real motive of investing in Jake, but what he did to Jemna’s dad proved he hasn’t changed one bit.
4. I hate they killed Ronnie. They could have let him leave and head to Springfield. I also thought it was strange that a banger avenged Coogi’s death when he wasn’t in a gang. And if someone really wanted to avenge his death, why’d they wait so long to do it?
5. Tiff is a trip and a half. I was with her at first since Emmitt constantly messed up, but two wrongs don’t make a right. I like Emmitt, but it seems like he needs to face the music now and walk away from Tiff. I wonder if he had told her he slept with Dom before they were married would Tiffany had done anything different.
6. I’m glad they finally revealed Douda killed Brandon. We were left to assume that, but I’m glad it was confirmed. I really wanted him to make it.
7. I think it’s foul how the writers broke Kevin’s heart by having his homie and girl hookup. I also hate how they had spiraling the way he did. I honestly thought they were going to turn him into a junkie. I do like that they have kept him as a nice guy though.
8. I worry about Trig and his girl. There’s a storm brewing. I think Nuck is lying low to retaliate & I thought the guy that bumped Imani was going to shoot her.
9. Anyone else feel Jason Weaver may be plotting against Trig? Yeah, he’s cool with Imani now, but I still think he’s up to something.
10. It’s crazy that Keisha kept the baby instead of allowing Tab to keep him. I don’t know if I could have dealt with that constant reminder.
11. I really hope Jada lives and wasn’t given bad news.
12. What happened to the 2nd restaurant Sonny was opening? Did he lose it too?

We’ll I must say I really enjoy this show!!! But on the subject of Tiff, she’s been through a lot with Emmit trusting him to really be honest about commitment. When he does finally it was really too late, especially when she found out about his working partner. Although it was before their marriage BUT, he promised! When you love someone and really want that solid commitment and someone just can’t seem to do that until “it too late”, a Women scorned isn’t reversible. Who really recovers from being scorned?She will be numb for a long time. She can’t help it now!!! Her actions now predicts she’s numb as hell!!! This is her way of thinking she can find some sense of feel good from the pain in heart, of lost trust in the Man she wanted in Emmit! This story line is on the Real! I love it!!! Teach !!
