Mayor Douda speaks with Trig about reflections on his life. Douda tells Trig, “They say the best way to appreciate your life is to come close to losing it… I saw my life flash before my eyes.” Trig questioned the mayor as to what he saw. Douda responded, “all the bridges I’ve burned and all the people I’ve lost.” He wanted to convince himself he was a good person, but only time would time.

Douda doesn’t have a family and Trig’s family is the closest he’s had to one. Jake is like a son to him. He wants to be involved in the teen’s life, but there is some resistance from Trig as the role he seeks is stepping on his territory. What are Douda’s plans?

Just then, Marcus bursts into Douda’s office to rant about Chicago losing the Olympics bid. Douda did not care for winning the quadrennial games.

Marcus and Douda have been straying for some time now. He only wants to advise the mayor to be the best. Yet Douda is drunk on power and redemption. Trig ran after Marcus to calm him, explaining that Douda is distracted ever since Roselyn left. Though Marcus charged back with the mayor’s recklessness. Trig dismissed him, however, Marcus heeded him a warning, “If you wanna protect your community from someone… it should be from him!” Referring to the corrupt Chicago mayor.

Trig went back to talk more with Douda. He wanted to convince him to be the people’s mayor and not only focus on Black people. Douda redirected with an offer to come off the block and into his administration.

BM Advice

Emmett went to confide with an ex, one of his other baby mamas, Shay, about his ultimatum to Tiff. He told her the truth, yet the timing of finally wanting to settle down was the problem for Tiffany. She’s been cheated on numerous times by him. She wanted variety. His BM was blunt, informing him that it may be too late. Shay ultimately advised Emmett to give Tiff some time because she does love him.

It was a good heart-to-heart and change of pace for Emmett and Shay.

Family Dinner

Darnell visits Jada to reminisce, joke, and console her. They had a great heart-to-heart talk. He admitted that he loved Jada, and she returned the sentiment.

Celebrity Myxer had a chance to interview Rolando Boyce, who portrays Darnell, check out the exclusive interview below!

We speculated with him about whose feet he was rubbing and it was Jada’s.

Darnell offered to cook Jada some dinner. He fixed her his famous smothered pork chops and invited Emmett over. After dinner, Darnell even lined up Jada’s hair. It was a poignant moment. Emmett enjoyed every second of it.

Jake Stuntin’

Trig gave Jake his G-wagon to take Jemma to the Spring Fling and the first thing the teen did was pull up on his boys. They quickly blew a few L’s but Jake used the opportunity to check on Kevin. Kev said he was fine, but it did make him feel some type of way knowing his best friend is taking his ex to a school he got kicked out of because of them.

Survival, Wisdom & Inspiration

Emmett wants to buy a house for his mother. He asks Keisha to go see it with him. The real estate broker recognizes her because she’s aware of her story. The broker wanted Keisha to know that she’s a big inspiration to rape survivors.

Keisha went to visit Octavia, the woman she gave her baby to briefly, then wanted him back. Keisha got some baby items from Octavia and left her with a picture of when she was holding baby Ronnie. Keisha confided more with the woman who always gave her wisdom and inspiration.

Trig and Marcus took pictures of Jake and Jemma before they headed off to the dance. An unexpected guest arrived, it’s Douda. He wanted to see them off too. It was awkward but his presence added the final touch the youths needed- a corsage.

While Kevin was playing video games with Lynae, they got bored because he was distracted so he asked her to come to the Spring Fling. It was meant as a fun gesture. Suddenly, Jake remembered he left his bag (which contained weed) at Jemma’s house so he wanted to leave early to get it.

Near-Death

Douda and Marcus had a face-off. Douda dared his ex-right-hand man to cross him because he had no evidence that would stick. The subject turned towards Jake and his viral run-in with the law. Marcus wanted Jake away from his daughter, Douda snarked back with an insult about Jemma’s friendliness and Marcus punched Douda in the face! Douda struck back with his cane and beat the man near death with it. Trig was outside and stormed in to see the aftermath. He attempted to call the ambulance and Douda stopped him to let him die.
