Warning… Spoilers below!

On Station 19 Season 6 Episode 1 Premiere, it’s been 6 months since the events of the Season 5 finale. Maya continues to have a power struggle with both Beckett and Sullivan, and she pays the ultimate price when Carina discovers the blackmail attempt. Meanwhile, a tornado hits Seattle, and Andy finds Jack in a shocking situation.

Where We’re At

Andy trains with volunteers, teaching them self-defense, while Sullivan and Maya get out their anger by competing in a workout competition. Sullivan ends up winning because Carina grabs Maya to head to the bathroom for their 5th try at making a baby.

While guarding the door for Carina and Maya, Andy calls Jack and asks him when he’s coming back. He reveals that he gave Andy his job when he left and that he’s in Kansas City and headed to his foster sister’s last known address.

Vic and Theo talk to Travis about him running for mayor and try to convince him that he’s got this. Travis tells them it’s difficult to run as an independent and not have a stance on anything, but Vic and Theo continue to give him a pep talk.

Carina is lying in the showers when Ben walks in and asks him to not report Maya to Beckett, because he already hates her enough. She isn’t sure their marriage can survive anymore.

We’re Not In Kansas Anymore

The team shows up to a car crash, and it starts pouring rain as soon as they start helping the victims. As soon as Andy starts helping a woman stuck in one of the cars named Hallie, she sees a tornado forming. The team rushes to take cover.

Travis is at his mayoral event when the tornado sirens go off. Dixon tries to tell everyone not to worry, but Travis makes sure everyone takes cover in the house.

Back at the car crash site, the team struggles to get people into safety. Andy tries to help Hallie, but she is dragged away so they can take cover. Theo tries to yell at a kid (one of the people in the car crash) who is going the wrong way, but he doesn’t listen and gets blown into a tree, knocking him unconscious.

The phones are going crazy as Ben tries to answer them, and Carina and Ben take cover as Ben speculates that with his luck, of course, a tornado would take him out instead of a fire.

Andy hears Hallie screaming, but Sullivan keeps her down. A few moments go by, and the team thinks everything has cleared up, so they rush back to the scene. One of the other car crash victims got stabbed by some debris. Andy goes to check on Hallie, but when they go back to the scene, it’s a mess, and Hallie’s car is gone.

Travis goes outside to make sure everything is okay and hears someone calling out for help: it’s Allie. Her car has flown into the backyard.

Heroes and Miracles

Andy calls Ben to tell him to let her know if they find out where Allie went. Theo and Vic help the man with debris on his back, and he reveals that he ran the stop sign that caused the car crash. Andy gets the call that they found Allie and that she’s alive and stable.

Travis tries to calm down a frantic Allie. He talks to her about her husband while waiting for someone to get him a crowbar so he can get her out without equipment. The man who brings him the crowbar says that Travis has his vote. Dixon advises Travis to wait until the paramedics and equipment show up, but Travis shuts him down and helps Allie out of the car. After Travis grabs Allie’s phone and calls her husband for her, Dixon congratulates Travis on being a hero on camera. Travis tries to tell him that’s just his job, but Dixon says his job was just to make sure she was stable and that they may be more alike than Travis thought.

Ben answers calls while Carina tries to get a hold of Maya. Carina assures Ben that he’s doing the right thing by staying safe for his family. An older man walks in with a hurt arm, and Ben and Carina go to help him.

Maya and Sullivan talk on the way back, and Maya pries about Chief Ross. She tells Sullivan that he would’ve done the same thing, that they’re both anti-Beckett. Sullivan defends Beckett, saying he had a drinking problem, and Maya calls out how Sullivan shows empathy for Beckett by not her. Sullivan says he can’t empathize with someone who used blackmail to try and get a promotion. When Maya claims it was just an impulse, Sullivan says she has to live with that now, and that nobody is punishing her but herself.

The Lies Will Catch Up With You

The team goes to a house, and Eva Vasquez comes running out. When the team asks her what’s going on, Eva says that Jack is inside. Andy is confused, Jack is supposed to be in Kansas City, but Eva says that he’s been in her bed for the last 3 months. In disbelief, Maya and Andy go inside and find Jack underneath a tree that fell onto him.

Carina goes to grab supplies to help the man, but Ben suggests that she calls an aid car. Ben says that it’s not a clinic day, and Carina doesn’t work there, and he’s trying to do better by following the rules. Carina says she isn’t afraid of Beckett, but Ben assures her that this deals with liability.

Maya and Andy are upset with Jack as they try to help him. Jack reveals that he can’t get his arm out from under the tree because it’s handcuffed, not because it’s stuck. Sullivan can’t help but laugh as Jack is embarrassed and just tells them to get the tree off of him.

Carina pulls out the glass in the man’s arm, and he talks about how he was in the army. He starts bleeding a lot, and Ben comes over to help. They try to stop the bleeding with stitches.

Andy tells Jack that she doesn’t know why he lied, but she assures him that he has a family there who loves him, but Jack begins laughing at the fact that he’s hit a new low when he doesn’t think it could get any lower. She assures Jack that they aren’t judging him.

They get the tree off, and Andy unlocks the handcuffs and leaves. Sullivan tells Eva to get him to a hospital because his wrist is hurt. Maya tries to talk to Jack, but he just makes a comment about not having any more sperm, which upsets her. Vic tells Jack that it won’t feel that way forever unless he lets it kill him. She tells him not to let it.

It All Makes Sense Now

Travis walks in on Carina and Ben, arguing about how they should’ve taken the man to the hospital, it was too risky. Ben wonders if this is how the team felt when he broke the rules, and Travis says it is. Ben tells Carina that the hormones are making her mean, but Carina goes off about how she’s getting older and has always wanted to be pregnant and have a baby, but now she might not be able to. They change the subject as Travis mentions the car falling out of the sky and the unfortunate situation that the team found Jack in, and Carina says that Jack is dead to her.

Beckett puts Maya on grunt work, which she unhappily obliges to. Carina sees this and confronts Beckett about being rude to her, but Beckett says that he’s just not into people blackmailing the chief into firing him.

Carina confronts Maya; she didn’t know about the blackmail. Maya wants Carina to be on her side, but Carina says she can’t handle the fact that she’s been lying to her for 6 months and making Carina feel crazy because she never knew what was wrong. Maya defends her actions, saying it was for them and their family, but Carina knows it was just for Maya and nobody else. They get into more of a fight, calling each other impossible. Carina calms down and admits that the hormones are making her emotional, but they were happy, and Maya ruined it all. Carina says that if they’re going to have a baby, Maya needs to get help.

Mayor Zaddy

Sullivan finds Andy in the locker room, and Andy reveals that she’s scared for Jack. Sullivan reminds Andy that she can’t fix him, she can just be there for him. Andy says that what happened with Hallie was a miracle and seemed like a sign. Andy thinks of her father and thinks that he would want Andy to help Jack, whether he likes it or not.

Andy gets a message and rushes to tell everyone to put on the news. The news shows Travis saving Hallie, and they all joke around with him, saying he’s the new “Fire Zaddy.” Chief Ross shows up, but it’s just to congratulate Travis and telling him that he should get a pull with the union because of his rescue.

Sullivan follows Chief Ross, and she tells him that she’ll be spending a day a week at Station 19. He assures her that it’s no problem, and when she begins to leave, Sullivan asks her if they can be friends since it’s been 6 months. Chief Ross says they can’t before she walks away.
