When Emmett walks out, Travis asks Vic if she needs support for the next day when she takes the pill, but she thinks her and Theo need to go through it alone. Vic points out that Travis has been avoiding being alone with Emmett.

Sullivan and Chief Ross walk down the street arm and arm after having dinner, reflecting on when they were together. Beckett runs into them, carrying bottles of alcohol. Both Sullivan and Chief Ross take notice.

Rifling Through Options

Maya and Carina look through sperm donors, unable to decide on who they want to choose between their two options. Maya doesn’t understand why they can’t just go with her option, especially since Carina is going to be giving the egg and carrying the baby.

Holding Onto Something

Ben tells Beckett he should be good to be back on call soon, that he’s done his sessions with Diane.

Jack offers to help Ben when he notices Ben seems angry. Ben doesn’t get why everyone is coming after him when everyone in the house is a mess.

The Big Moment

Vic and Theo go to the doctor so Carina can give her one last exam. Vic takes the abortion pill and jokes about which wine to pair with it as a way to cope.

Once Vic is cleared to go, Theo offers to stay with her. She continues to tell him he doesn’t have to, but he doesn’t give in.

Theo gets back from grocery shopping, and he’s upset that Vic had already taken the pill before he got there. Theo wonders why Vic’s been pushing him out, and she fights back, saying if she hadn’t been pregnant, they wouldn’t have spoken. He tells her he’s pushed aside his own feelings to be there for her and notes how she hadn’t even asked him what his feelings were.

The Truth Comes Out

Andy is on call at Station 19 to cover for Vic, so she and Travis go on a Crisis One call to find a man sitting in his car after causing a scene in the neighborhood. The man, Harry, pours gasoline all over himself. He threatens to light himself on fire if they try to get him out. Travis tells him he needs to open the door so he doesn’t keep inhaling the fumes. He opens the door, and Travis talks to him about his teaching.

Meanwhile, Emmett thinks Travis can handle the situation, but not wanting to risk Harry’s life, Andy calls for backup from the firefighters.

Harry sees the firefighters pull up and gets upset. Harry reveals he just got dumped by his wife of 25 years the day before. He wonders why his wife waited so long to tell him how she felt.

Travis gest Harry to step out of the car, and he relates to Harry’s situation because of his situation with Emmett. Little does he know, Emmett is standing right behind him.

Even as Travis thanks Harry for letting him see clearly, Harry still decides to drop the lighter at his feet, engulfing himself in flames.

The firefighters quickly put the fire out and get Harry into an ambulance.

The Hardest Part

Vic and Theo finally talk about his feelings. He opens up about how his mother had an abortion after his father’s death. While they’re walking, Vic hunches over in pain.

While Vic is in pain, she has Theo play some happy music to distract her, and then asks him to sing loudly through the door so he’s humiliated like her. He does, and Vic comes out and hugs him, realizing he did some research on abortions before.

Vic tells Theo she wasn’t trying to kick him out of her life, she had just wanted to be out of her own life, and that’s why she shut everyone out. She opens up about how the grief with all the loss in her life has been suffocating her. She apologizes to Theo, crying into his embrace.

Power Struggle

Sullivan passive-aggressively confronts Beckett about his drinking, but Beckett fires back about Sullivan using a possible sexual relationship with Chief Ross for his career.

Later, Beckett asks Sullivan for a truce. He tells Sullivan he’d never drink on the job, so Sullivan confronts him about the whiskey in his office. Beckett is upset that he was snooping in his office, and once again points out whatever is going on with him and Chief Ross.

Friends Keep Friends from Doing Stupid Things

Ben apologizes to everyone for how he’s been acting, he just feels like everything in his life is just out of his grasp.

Anna, Pru’s nanny, drops Pru off to go to Ben. Jack can’t help but flirt with her, and Andy jokes with him, saying how he needs to stop choosing women in messy situations.

Andy suggests that she and Jack keep each other in check to stop flirting and sleeping with the wrong people.  He reluctantly agrees.

Making Decisions

Sullivan tells Dr. Webber about Beckett and not knowing what to do. Richard suggests that Sullivan help Beckett get sober.

Maya brings Carina coffee and lets her know she doesn’t want to go with Carina’s option. Maya tells her that she wants their sperm donor to be someone they know to make her feel better.

Travis comes to visit Vic, and he and Theo talk about what to do with Emmett. Theo says if Travis loves him, he’ll call him and talk to him.

As Theo lays in bed next to Vic, she tells him that she loves him.
