Watch Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 3 “Human Capital”
Previously on Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 2, Tariq, Brayden, Effie, and Cane divvy up Noma’s product to push. Lorenzo sets a plan in motion to keep Monet off his trail after she orders him to find Zeke’s killer. Cane looks into what happened at Mecca’s hangar.
Warning… Spoilers below!
On Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 3, Obi is dubious of Tariq, Brayden, Cane, and Effie’s efforts to move drugs from the beginning. He gives the quartet an ultimatum of selling $1 million worth of product the next time he returns, or else Cane’s sister, Brayden’s parents, and Tariq’s grandmother will be killed for each million not returned to the drug organization.
Effie confessed to Tariq that she wanted to start selling drugs through Stansfield again. After learning how carefully she moves, he approves it. (She also roasted him about not having a car, LOL!)
Cane was concerned about his baby sister and visited her school to give her a gun for protection and invited her to the penthouse. Later, Cane laid out the plan to Lorenzo, Dru, and Diana. They were forced to listen now that Cane was blackmailing his father (though this baffled the siblings.) They devised a plan to take out a Russian competitor to be the new supplier.
Ruffling Monet’s Feathers
Det. Whitman confronted Monet at her bar, asking her to come into the precinct “to talk.” He even suspected her bar was clean for being a crime scene. Monet visited Davis to broker a meeting with her and her lawyer.
When Monet and Davis spoke with Whitman, he accused her of murdering GTG gang members who visited her bar. He tried to get a rise out of Monet by accusing her of killing Zeke! Davis was worried that Whitman would do more into GTG gang member deaths. The duo formed a plan to thwart Whitman involving Tariq…
Coffee & Crypto
Ron Samuel Jenkins (aka RSJ, portrayed by Gbenga Akinnagbe) is one of the wealthiest investors in the world. Lucas gathered Brayden and Tariq to meet the affluent man in trying to poach him as a client. Tariq pulled him to the side to ask a business question. Tariq made a great first impression on the billionaire.
Meanwhile, Tariq and Brayden laid out a plan for Wallstreet brokers to buy “coffee” and get drugs hand-delivered to their desks. Payment ran through crypto and rinsed. Also, Cane and Dru would continue selling on the streets.
In private, Cane tasked Brayden with a hit of a Russian supplier. They needed him gone so they could supply his buyers. Brayden told Tariq and Effie about Cane’s request. They needed a “white guy” to do the hit. Tariq tried to get Brayden out of the hot seat, but it was time for him to put in dirty work…
Botched Hit
When Tariq met with Monet and Davis, he learned how close Whitman was onto their trail. However, Saxe spotted the meet and snuck a photo (for Jenny Sullivan!)
Whitman confronted Sullivan and Rodriguez about their R.I.C.O. case falling flat, so Jenny redirected with using Rashad Tate for help.
When Diana confronted Effie about Stansfield being a dangerous place, Effie redirected and asked her to work with them. Diana refused to have any illicit dealings.
Saxe met with Theodore Rollins (now portrayed by Jordan Mahome, formerly portrayed by Redman in season 2), he learned that Theo and Davis were brothers.
Brayden botched the hit on the Russian, so Tariq swooped in and killed the man for him. Though the pair were spotted by the Russian’s goons, they didn’t catch them.
Tariq asked Effie to be his Bonnie to his Clyde. He told her that his mother was the mastermind in his parents’ criminal enterprise. He wanted her to be just like her…
Brother Cover
Cane, Lorenzo, and Dru met with the GTG leaders to become their new suppliers. They learned there was a “black shooter,” and Dru confronted his father and brother about Cane suddenly being in charge.
Davis confronted Saxe for visiting Theo in prison. Saxe rebutted and confronted him with actually committing the murder Theo was in jail for! Davis convinced Saxe to help him get Theo out of jail due to overzealous racist police behavior.
Lorenzo visited Diana at school and asked her to sell drugs at Stansfield.
When Brayden met with Cane, the goon pulled a gun on him and interrogated him about who killed the Russian. Brayden alluded to someone other than Tariq. Cane let him go with the condition that Brayden still owed him a murder. Then he called Effie to meet…
