Porcelan’s new hit single “Lois Lane” is a story about a musician of fame and power who falls in love with her bodyguard and is in need of his help. Plot sounds familiar? Well, that’s because it was inspired by the late-great Whitney Houston’s role aside cast mate Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard movie. Lois Lane just reached the Billboard Adult R&B songs charts at #24 from #30 for the week of July 21, 2018. That is a wonderful feat as she sits in the same ranks as Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up”, H.E.R.’s “Focus” and just under Drake’s “God’s Plan.”

In the song she describes the need for her Superman to cure her loneliness, to sooth her insecurities of falling in love, to save her from potential bad relationships. In the music video there is an added plot element whereas her male love interest has a female bodyguard partner. The partner grows jealous of their newly forming relationship and steals money from the artist. Amid being caught red handed, a struggle ensues and gunfire sounds off. We presume Mr. Superman prevails six months later from either an injury or by thwarting the thief’s plan to demise- a plot left up to our own interpretation. Kudos to director Erik White’s stunning visuals.
“I was very excited to shoot this video! The concept was something fresh yet very classic. I was able to dip into acting with a few parts which was all new for me. After watching the finished product, I was extremely proud to have gotten the opportunity to be part of such a well produced and directed project,” says Porcelan. “I was also extremely amazed at all of my growth as an artist, from my first video until now! It made me want to push even harder to the next level, it feels like great when u can say you’ve accomplished a level in your career. It gives me true excitement to know that there’s so much more to come,” she adds.
