Warning… Spoilers below!

On NCIS Season 20 Episode 8 “Turkey Trot” cowritten by Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie Hines, a man practices what he will say to Rear Admiral Martha Stock when he meets her. He is going to act like an NCIS agent to be able to get close to her.

Robin’s Turkey Day

The team spots a man, Bob Stiver, acting like an NCIS agent and detains him for impersonating a federal agent. Torres, Hines, Palmer, and Knight are all running in the Turkey Trot. McGee and Parker are there to support them and for extra security for the Rear Admiral.

As soon as the Rear Admiral starts the race, explosions and gunshots erupt all around them. The Rear Admiral’s assistant, Sarah, has been injured. Hines finds the bullet, and the team realizes that Bob was just really a fan and not the shooter. Bob was taking photos of the Rear Admiral and ended up taking a picture of the shooter carrying the gun

Knight’s sister, Robin, is hosting Thanksgiving dinner, and Hines is going with her for moral support and to keep the peace between Knight and Robin. It will be a harder job than she imagined, as all they do is poke at each other. Robin has a new man, Charlie, and invited him to Thanksgiving. It’s the man from Bob’s picture, the Turkey Trot shooter!

Obsessed With Knight

Charlie explains that his family’s rule for the holidays is that everyone puts their cell phone in a big basket together, so nobody has access to them, and they get to spend quality time together. And identifies the shooter as Charlie Samuels, a TSA security agent.

Robin surprises her and Hines by announcing that she is engaged to Charlie. Knight does not support Robin’s new relationship because she thinks they moved too fast. Robin throws the fact that Knight has not introduced her to Palmer yet. Charlie asks Knight and Hines to talk about their job, specifically the React Team. Hines is shocked that Charlie knows about the React Team.

Torres, McGee, and Parker raid Charlie’s house.  Charlie is not there, but they find a memorial card for Charlie’s brother, Joseph Samuels, and the silencer used at the race. Palmer calls them with the news that Charlie’s real target is Knight! Knight decides it’s time for her and Hines to leave because there’s too much tension with her sister Robin. As they go to leave, Charlie pulls out his gun, forcing them to stay.

Memorial Watch

Charlie explains to the women that his real target is Knight. Knight was on the React Team and could not talk Charlie’s brother, Joseph, off the ledge, and Joe committed suicide. Knight becomes overwhelmed with emotion and explains to Charlie that she spent hours on the bridge with Joseph. Charlie accuses Knight of lying and points the gun at her head. Knight tells Charlie that Joe’s nickname for Charlie was ‘Boots’. She shows Charlie a watch that she carries with all the initials of the people she couldn’t save. Joe’s initials are on the knife.

The team cannot get a hold of Knight or Hines as Charlie has taken their phones. They don’t know where Knight and Hines are because Robin rented an apartment to host Thanksgiving. Charlie tells Knight that now she will understand what it feels like to lose a sibling as he fires his gun at Robin!

New Bonds

Charlie misses Robin and Robin explains to Charlie that Knight doesn’t even care about her. Knight starts protesting, saying that, of course, she does. They begin bickering, and Charlie becomes upset. The team finds the apartment that Robin rented. When they get to the door, Hines hollers out that they are ok but not to enter as Charlie has a gun pointed at them.

Charlie puts the gun to his head, Knight attacks Charlie just as Torres breaks through the window. The team rushes in, and Knight and Robin embrace. Knight tells Robin that they’re going to spend the evening together, rebuilding their sisterly bond. McGee and Palmer head to Director Vance’s to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.

  1. R. Postles says:

“She shows Charlie a knife that she carries with all the initials of the people she couldn’t save. Joe’s initials are on the knife. The memorial was on the inside of a watch, not on a knife.”

It was a watch, not a knife.

    1. R. Postles says:

I edited the comment to add a quote from the article, yet it appeared with both before and after parts. Your system is messed up.

    2. Heath says:

She wears a watch with the initials of those she cares about and has lost on the inside. It is not a knife. The watch was given to her by her sister

      1. Amanda Bonar says:

You are absolutely correct. Thank you for pointing that out. It will be corrected immediately.
