Lifetime is set to air two new movie thrillers this New Year, ‘Safe Room‘ and ‘Vanished: Searching For My Sister.’ In what promises to be an action-packed January, these two releases are certainly not to miss out on. The film will release on Saturday, January 15th at 7 pm CT and Saturday, January 22nd at 7 pm CT, respectively.

Nicole Ari Parker stars in ‘Safe Room’ premiering on Lifetime on January 15th
To kick things off, Boris Kodjoe will be making his directorial debut alongside his wife Nicole Ari Parker (Chicago P.D., Empire) and a star-studded cast including Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos) and Nik Sanchez (The Rookie).
The premise of the movie is as follows Lila Jackson (Nicole Ari Parker.) She plays a widow left behind with her autistic teenage son Ian (Nik Sanchez) following her husband’s death.
It just so happens that Nik is, in fact, autistic in real life. And that realism only adds to the suspense. With her husband no longer alive, Lila is totally indebted to her neighbor Neil (Boris Kodjoe), who goes out of his way to make sure they are fine.
But things take a turn for the worse when Ian witnesses an intruder breaking in across the street. A murder soon follows, which Ian happens to end up recording.
Lila has now gotten herself into a battle to protect everything she holds dear against the unscrupulous intruders Dominic (Mackenzie Astin) and Rocco (Drea De Matteo).
They will go to any lengths to ensure that the video disappears. In order to get their head around what is happening, Lila and Ian take refuge in a panic room to figure out their next move. Will they outsmart the intruders?

Vanished: Searching For My Sister
Tatyana Ali stars in ‘Vanished: Searching For My Sister’ premiere on Lifetime on January 22nd
When you thought that was enough, the following week, we have another highly anticipated film, ‘Vanished: Searching For My Sister.’ Tatyana Ali (Love That Girl) stars as the movie’s lead which has a star-studded cast, including Justin Bruening (Sweet Magnolias) and Jasmine Guy (Grey’s Anatomy.)
Two twins, who go by Jada and Kayla (Tatyana Ali), are anything but the same. Outside of the aesthetics, their personalities are poles apart. Jada is prim and proper, as she holds down an office job. Meanwhile, Kayla is the black sheep of the family, the wild one, so to speak.
After recently becoming a newly divorced woman from her ex-husband Warren (Justin Bruening), Kayla asks Jada to keep an eye on her daughter as she sorts out her new living arrangements.
However, when Kayla does not answer Jada’s calls, she begins to worry. Kayla has now gone missing, and a hunt is on to track her down. The police investigation fails to uncover any answers, which is why Jada takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of this.
She impersonates Kayla in the hope that the culprit can be found. In doing so, she gets herself involved in a tale of drugs and lies to get to the answer. But will she be able to live with what she discovers?
