Harlem Season 2 To Be Renewed!
As previously mentioned, we haven’t gotten official word from Amazon Studios. When we know, our readers will be the first to know! That stated we anticipate it to return in December 2022!
Previously On Harlem Season 1
Harlem revolves around the life adventures of best friends Camille (Meagan Good,) Quinn (Grace Byers,) Angie (Shoniqua Shandai,) and Tye (Jerrie Johnson.) From writer Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip), Harlem is a new comedy following four stylish and ambitious best girlfriends in Harlem NYC, the mecca of Black culture in America.
Camille is a popular young anthropology professor at Columbia with extensive knowledge of the dating norms of many cultures but has a hard time navigating her own love life.
Tye is a successful, queer dating app creator who prefers keeping vulnerability—and romantic partners—at arm’s length.
Quinn is a hopeless romantic and trust fund fashion designer who is trying to give back to the world while running a struggling business.
Angie is a confident, vibrant, and filter-free singer and actress who also lives rent-free and fabulously with Quinn.
Quinn Finding Herself
Quinn is a trust fund kid, miserable with corporate her job, she quit to start her own business as a clothing designer. However, her overbearing mother verbally chastised her at every moment, sulking in disappointment for her daughter. She wanted her to settle down with the man she liked and start a family but Quinn didn’t want that.
Her love life was full of terrible choices and catfishing. She actually found something unexplored in her new relationship with Isabela, a younger politician Quinn’s mother was endorsing.
Angie was a recording artist on the rise and because of her lack of a filter, it cost her a record deal. She fell from stardom and wouldn’t settle for working for just anyone. Ultimately, she settled for background singing in ‘Get Out‘ the musical. Then rose to a lead role until it was halted because of her mouth. The show was a chance to make money, get off Quinn’s couch, and stop freeloading off her bestie.
Tye’s Other Life
Tye hadn’t opened up deep relationships because she was married to her best friend from college, Brandon. She married him during a vulnerable time when she was confused about her sexuality and wanted some normalcy. Soon, she realized it was a mistake and bailed on the man, then reinventing herself in NYC.
This was the first time her friends heard of her background. Though confessing, they were there for their girl.
Camille & Ian
Camille rebuilt her life after being crushed from her breakup with her ex (Ian) five years prior. When Ian came back, it brought up intense feelings. She avoided him initially then confronted her feelings, kissing him, and pouring her heart out to him wanting to kindle things. He broke the news to her that he was engaged to be married.
Camille met Ian’s fiance, Mira, and ended up sparking a romantic relationship with Jameson. However, throughout the Harlem TV series, the former couple wrestled with wanting to be with each other after reacquainting…
What To Expect Harlem Season 2
So, will there be a season 2 of Harlem? We think so, here’s why! In the finale of Harlem, Camille joined Quinn to deliver Mira’s wedding dress she designed. Instead of staying in the car, Camille went inside to see Ian and Mira’s reception and fantasized about herself wed to the man.
When she left, she ran into Ian and they had a heart-to-heart talk. They both admitted to still being in love with each other and kissed. A tearful Mira saw them from the distance…
In Harlem season 2, we believe this complicated drama will pick up from that moment. It would add more drama if Mira pretended to go through with the ceremony only to leave Ian at the alter. Even worse, if she tried to compete for Ian’s love with Camille in the picture.
But what about Jameson? Will Camille drop everything to rekindle her relationship with Ian? Camille quit the job she loves, what will she do in new career moves?
Quinn goes on her first date with Isabela. How long will the honeymoon stage last? Will she love being with a woman or will the relationship end like all her others?
Tye possibly has to get a hysterectomy to alleviate her health issues. Yet she was frightened of the reality of not being able to bear her own children someday. She had a fallout with Brandon and she made it about money. We think he will be vindictive and fight her in court now that her net worth will skyrocket.
Angela will have to continue to suppress her pride in order to earn a living and rebuild her career. She started messing around with Eric, will that last?
Let’s not forget the epic music soundtrack in the series. We heard tracks like “Single AF” by Foushee, “Still Miss You” by Victoria Monet, “Venus” by Symphani Soto, “I Want You Around” by Snoh Aalegra, and more!
