Game Of Thrones Takes Over AT&T Store!

Celebrity Myxer captured all of the excitement of the “Game Of Thrones” takeover at the flagship Michigan Avenue store in Chicago! As we all know the hit television series on HBO is in the final season and we got a chance to experience portions of the medieval set. Throughout the store were real build outs along with augmented and virtual reality games to play. The virtual reality game by Magic Leap had me terrified (see in the video above LOL!) It took me through a frightening room, in which I had to find a dagger next to a halved zombie then defend myself from a zombie attacking me. There were #GOT trinkets everywhere including on phone cases, Funko POP collector figures, even the cast iron throne to sit like a King/Queen. Of course, you cannot have Game of Thrones without cosplay. Fans showed up and showed off their costumes and stayed in character all night.

We had a special treat in the Windy City as we got a chance to hear from the Emmy award winning production designer, Deborah Riley, from Game of Thrones. She spoke on building the immersive worlds throughout the seasons- and how much of it was real and massive in order to capture the true essence of medieval times. She also gave other aspiring designers motivation describing her background in theater stage design & architecture and how that helped her land the important job- even with a lack of movie set design experience. You have to watch to learn her secrets.

If you’re in select cities (Chicago, San Francisco and Boston) you can go the flagship stores and experience the Game Of Thrones AR & VR experiences for yourself until the end of May. What’s your thoughts on the show sadly coming to an end? Tell us in the comments below!
