Watch FBI Season 5 Episode 4 “Victim”
Previously on FBI Season 5 Episode 3, as the team investigates a deadly robbery that garnered a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover one of the perps is a classmate of Jubal’s son, who is reluctant to cooperate.
Warning… Spoilers below!
On FBI Season 5 Episode 4, Agent OA is off duty and meets a woman (portrayed by Laura Betz) who claims to have needed help. He tries to assist her, but OA gets mugged, pistol-whipped, kicked, and insulted by a hooded assailant and the woman. When the police arrive, OA is reluctant to share all of the details of his robbery.
OA gave the police a limited statement. He told no one at work and went right to work on the next case. The medical examiner determined she was handcuffed, raped, and killed.
Keep It Quiet
When the FBI interviewed the victim’s mother, she mentioned her daughter noticed a man had been watching her lately. Unfortunately, they had to inform her that he had killed her daughter.
ASAC Castille spoke with NYPD and tried to console OA about his robbery. The city cops cooperated to let the Feds take over the case since the perps had done over ten robberies. He declined and asked to keep the incident private.
The team got a hit on a man who was suspected of stalking women. Of course, when they approached him, he ran and was apprehended. OA roughed him up a bit, and Chase had to calm her fellow agent.
While being interrogated, the suspect, Norm Carver (portrayed by Nick Mathews), claimed not to murder the woman. Jubal interrupted the interrogation because NYPD found another body, which exonerated the man.
When agents arrived at the scene, an officer got OA ruffled, making a distasteful joke. The Feds found the killer had filed the serial numbers off the handcuffs. He used gloves and condoms, which kept the authorities at bay. So, they dug into sexual assault cases to see where the serial killer could have progressed.
Self-Help Victim
NYPD Detective Chavez (portrayed by Carlos Gomez) is assigned to OA’s robbery case and asks him into the office for further questioning. OA felt slighted by Chavez’s line of questions as the two share parallels in law enforcement.
Chavez asked about the discrepancies in his statement to the police, stating he didn’t see their faces when in fact, he did. OA was also reluctant to share they robbed him at gunpoint. Chavez wanted the duo off the streets because they had been escalating with violence. OA stormed out, claiming Chavez can “save this self-help victim crap for someone else!”
Meanwhile, agents learned of a woman, Citra Susanti (portrayed by Nuha Jes Izman), who was attacked similarly and zip-tied. She fought him off and got away. While interviewing her, she was reluctant to give full details, which hit home with OA. Afterward, Chase knew she was holding back, yet OA was sympathetic to why she may be holding back.
The FBI managed to get the serial number from the cuffs in the same manner as they do with filed-off firearms. They visited the surplus dealer who sold the cuffs and found it was a woman, a Barbi Simmons. When agents visited her home, they found her dead!
Courage Under Fire
The woman had been dead for two weeks. Suddenly, Det. Chavez visited OA at the office, he told him the male suspect was shot and in the OR. He gave him a photo exercise to jog his memory.
Afterward, Chase confronted OA about being secretive. He finally confessed that he got robbed. OA wanted to interview Citra, using the exercises Chavez reminded him of to get her to remember. The exercise allowed Citra to remember important details.
When OA returned, he identified his mugger. Furthermore, the Feds learned that their suspect was the clerk at the surplus dealer they previously visited, Jason Tanner (portrayed by Alexander Roberts).
Of course, Jason was gone when the agents returned. He was last seen with a woman. OA found him as he handcuffed another woman. He chased the perp without his team. When he caught him, he punched him then his team arrived to pull him off.
OA was regretful that he was reluctant to work with the police. He also regretted that Citra withheld information. Chase convinced him that she had found the courage to remember what had happened to her.
Later on, OA went to the hospital but was interrupted by Chavez, who gave him some words of encouragement…
