On FBI Season 4 Episode 3, after the team finds a connection between bombings at government agencies and a private veterans’ club in New York City, Isobel tells OA to recruit his former Army buddy, Chris, for intel since he spends time at the club. However, knowing the difficulty soldiers like Chris often face returning to civilian life, OA is reluctant to follow orders…

On FBI Season 4 Episode 4, a young man, Rob Holden, meets another mysterious man at night. The driver pulled up in a blue van, wore all black, and was hooded. Rob was trying to seduce the man and suddenly the guy stabbed him in the throat!

The next morning, Wallace attended an annual memorial service for her father. When she got in the car and had a smug exchange with Scola about it. The partners had not been seeing eye-to-eye lately. They got a call of a murder and immediately headed out.

They arrived in the woods where Rob’s body was found. He was partially buried. Shortly thereafter, cadaver dogs found 4 more graves.

The People Nobody Cares About

Back at the office, Valentine mandated this serial killing spree be made a priority. It’s shocking considering the victims… young, Black, and homeless.

No one reported missing men, no one really cares about them. The serial killer’s pattern seems to be every few days and the FBI had to take him down!

The team got a hit on a blue cargo van from a camera across the way. Soon after, the police found the van. It was empty and bloody. The Feds swept it for DNA. Wallace and Scola interviewed a food truck vendor and she pointed out a location where the perpetrator went into. Scola didn’t want to wait for backup despite Wallace’s warning. They entered and found a few homeless men but the third one attacked Wallace with a shovel and fled. They chased the man down, Bell and OA caught up to them and helped arrest the man!

Conflicted Pastor

The guy recently got out of jail and only went into the van to rummage something to sell. He ran because he was scared of going back to jail. The Feds dug deeper, pulling on strings to interview people in nearby bars. Wallace’s cousin, Terrence, was a pastor nearby and she went to interview him.

Her cousin mentioned a man named Isaac Jones. He’s a scary dude, he exploits the homeless men in the area and carries a knife. Bell and OA went to chat with the man up and he immediately bolted. Isaac hid in a bathroom stall then attacked OA. He pulled his knife in the brawl and Bell came in time to distract him then knocked him out with her pistol.

Bell and OA interrogated Isaac and presented their evidence- dead bodies and his knife was being processed for DNA. He claimed he protects people, not kills them. And ever since a homeless man named “Crabtree” got snatched in a van but got away, his protective services are in demand.

Wallace and Scola went back to run the abducted man’s name by her cousin. He keeps tabs on people in the area, including surveillance photos and detailed notes. Scola thought this behavior was odd. The partners went to find Crabtree and he gave a vague description of the abductor saying the man was Black and came off like a preacher. Suddenly the police were invading their location. A call of another slain homeless man came in. When police arrived, another Black man had his throat slit in the nearby alley

No Heads Up?

Scola took his hunch to Bell and OA to make sure he wasn’t overstepping. The trio graduated the decision to Castille in the presence of Wallace- who was crushed to learn Scola went behind her back and not come to her with his suspicions first.

Wallace was defensive of her cousin and wanted to get the answers out of him. However, Castille made her recuse herself due to a conflict of interest.

Bell and OA brought him in for questioning and asked about his phone habits. He lied about visiting the gay nightclub. They showed him clear photo evidence and he still denied it being him. Ultimately, he asked if he needed a lawyer.

Wallace got a call from her uncle about Terrence but she couldn’t reveal anything. He was concerned about the rumors swirling.

The team’s next step was to hold Terrence and investigate the evidence against him. They discussed keeping Wallace out to avoid further conflict of interest. Wallace made a risky move. When everyone was out, she stopped the cameras and went to speak with her cousin. She demanded the truth. He admitted to being at the gay club, he was unsure of his sexual status, she reassured him that was Okay and demanded to know more of his whereabouts. He demanded she does not tell her colleagues.

Consequences

Wallace went to help in the office since she’s restricted from the field. Wallace got a hunch of the purchaser of the shovel. It was Greg Robinson, the club bouncer Wallace and Scola initially interviewed. Wallace took her findings to Castille and Valentine…

Bell and Scola went to track down Greg and split up while tracking the man. Scola found another victim sliced up. He began to help the man and Greg peered out from the shadows to stab Scola but he was shot by Wallace. She saved Scola’s life.

Back at the office, Castille decided to only verbally reprimand Wallace for her disobedience since she did save her partners life. However, she couldn’t offer leniency to her cousin. The higher-ups needed to make an example out of him and there were consequences for people who lie to the FBI!

Scola and Wallace had a chat about the ordeal. He revealed he had to keep her out of the loop to protect her. She confronted him that he never opens up and that’s why their partnership was dysfunctional. They made amends…
