Warning… Spoilers below!

On FBI: International Season 2 Episode 9, Smitty worked undercover as the daughter of a fence to ensnare an American art thief, Daniel LeDee (portrayed by Rico E. Anderson). He immediately offered to barter for a lighter sentence

Driver Wanted

Things between Agent Raines and Maya continue to progress. So much so, that she professes that she could fall in love with him. However, the cold reminder of the job strikes, and Raines has to take off from their date. He reminds her that his allegiance to the job is paramount. (Though he vows to make it up.)

Back at the office, there’s a going bet that Raines wouldn’t last long with Maya since he hasn’t dated anyone past three weeks. He and Maya have tipped three months!

Meanwhile, Europol has spent a year investigating LeDee. The case took a twist when the Feds learned of Michael Semien’s (portrayed by Daniel Passaro) involvement. The criminal has been on the FBI’s watchlist for over a decade after leaving a deadly trail going cold!

LeDee wanted to barter intel on Semien for a lighter sentence. Semien was planning a large heist in Budapest and needed a trusted wheelman. Smitty nominated Raines as he held a record for precision driving at Quantico. Raines was down for the undercover op!

Dandridge sidelined Forrester, who has been positioned in Warsaw for the time being. Unfortunately, Dandridge oversees the team in Forrester’s absence. Forrester is no stranger to getting rid of unwanted bureaucrats, will he be able to boot Dandridge?

Prove Yourself

LeDee vouched for Raines, though Semien wanted to test his skills. He was asked to steal a car and take it on a test drive, which he did! Raines raced past the police and led them on a dangerous chase, but this car stalled. Semien doubted his skills just as the cop approached them, so Raines pulled his gun and shot the cop, and bailed!

Casing The Diamond District

Smitty and the team raced to the cop’s aid, and he was in on the cover and faked being shot. Raines learned the heist wasn’t in Budapest but in Antwerp, Belgium. Just as the Fly Team headed out to assist Raines, Dandridge declined their op. However, Kellet was a step ahead of him… using bureaucratic protocols to get the op approved. He gave them a short leash to move forward.

Raines learned that they were going to rob a downtown diamond exchange worth $200 million! Over the next few days, they practiced offsite at a simulation to rob the vault, part ways, and never see each other again.

Raines was among a murderous group of thugs. However, Semien was alerted that Europol was onto him and his crew, so he confronted the new guy. His story with the slain cop checked out, which proved his allegiance. Raines’ presence caused division, so their tech guy bailed, so Raines pitched to be their new tech guy and wheelman.

Meanwhile, the Fly Team learned that Dandridge’s inquiry possibly tipped off Semien’s mole at Europol…

Change of Plans

Raines tried to gain the heist address early, but Semien was tight-lipped. Smitty and the team were forced to find the possible location the hard way. Meanwhile, the Feds found the first wheelman in a dumpster with a bullet in his head!

The heist team successfully broke into the vault and emptied the diamonds into portable containers, but Semien’s goon shot LeDee, then turned his gun on Raines! Raines fought with the man while the others fled. Kellett and Vo flanked the fleeing robbers. They were going to draw on the Feds until Raines thwarted it.

Raines phoned Maya afterward, and she was disappointed but was still willing to wait on his return. When the team returned home, Forrester was there to greet them.

Forrester pulled Dandridge to the side to confront them. Dandridge rebutted that his team was sloppy, undisciplined, and took unnecessary risks. Dandridge blamed Forrester for their behavior, and he was being transferred to the admin division in two weeks, and he was gone!
