AT&T invited Celebrity Myxer to cover one of their exclusive book signings by one of their Dream In Black influencers, DeVon Franklin. He’s an award-winning film and TV producer, a New York Times best-selling author, an international speaker, as well as spiritual success coach. DeVon is touring the country and autographing his new book The Truth About Men.

The book is written for both men and women to act as a spiritual and motivational guide to identify some of men’s ill behaviors- and how to use positive virtues to contain and overcome them. Franklin uses a common metaphor to describe these behaviors as the male “dog.” He says these represent the selfish desire for “feeding” lust, power, control, etc. He says this can be tamed by using self-control and love.

Many will shadow him as actress Megan Good’s hubby. But he’s far more than that. His own life’s testimony is an inspirational journey, that in my opinion, is just getting started with greatness. DeVon was a successful executive at Sony Pictures. One of the most influential executives in Hollywood according to various media outlets such as Variety Magazine and Ebony Magazine. However, he felt a void and “boxed in” with the executive label on his door. So, after the successful box office numbers of his movie Heaven Is For Real he decided to quit his high paying job and start his own production company and motivational speaking engagements.
