Model Claudia Bouza Talks Acting, Directing & Producing

Claudia Bouza is an international model and actress currently based in Miami. She is originally from Barcelona, Spain, and got her start in New York City. She started modeling at the age of 14, now 26, she has amassed an impressive portfolio to include some of major brands such as Hollister, Olay, Harpers Bazaar, L’Officiel, and more. Bouza is the current face of Bikini.com and has ventured into directing a few of their productions. Her journey will inspire up-and-coming models and actresses as social media helped her propel her portfolio. We spoke with her about her career, check out the full interview on Celebrity Myxer!

“Be ready for rejection, it’s not personal. It’s not about beauty. It’s all about how you carry yourself.”

According to Claudia Bouza Macia, social media has made a huge impact on the modeling world. It allowed for more diversity in the elite world of beauty. She explains, “Finally! We have this huge range of different body types, hair colors, and skin colors. Everything is so different. Everything has evolved for good!” Claudia details how diverse brands, websites, and campaigns are evolving for more inclusion.

“Social media helps a lot because a lot of brands dislike dealing with agencies. With social media, brands can reach out to potential models directly,” Bouza elaborates. She tells Celebrity Myxer, “The first thing they ask you in castings right now is for your Instagram. Before I used to carry my book with my pictures.” Another shift Claudia has noticed, a model’s Instagram page has now become a model’s Lookbook, and the number of followers can influence their rate. She says, “The more followers you have the higher the rate. It helps and it’s a very powerful tool.”

Although she started modeling young, Bouza’s passion has always been acting. “I always wanted to act and then modeling came with it. It came together,” she explains. When she was 21 years old, she ventured into the new realm while helping out friends for fun. Thereafter, she insisted on directing some of Bikini.com’s campaigns as they started to trust her creative direction. “I would have never thought this would happen because I was always in front of the camera not behind it,” she describes.

Recently, Claudia Bouza can be spotted as the Barbie figure in Lunay’s music video which garnered over 4 million views on YouTube.

She leaves us with advice to pass along to other aspiring models and actresses. When it comes to casting, it’s not always about beauty yet it’s all about your personality. Stating, “No one wants to work with a diva.” If you are easy to work with and have a personality casting directors like, you will get hired.

She dropped some gems saying, “Be ready for rejection, it’s not personal. It’s not about beauty. It’s all about how you carry yourself. And because of diversity, a lot more people have a shot. Be yourself, embrace it!”
