Cherita Houston is all too aware of the harsh realities of life. It is full of many challenges. And this is evident in her book entitled ‘The Alpha Woman In Christ.’

But with that comes many struggles. Some of those struggles break us, while others bring the best out of us. But whatever the situation may be, there is a calming reassurance in knowing that God is within reach. That is when Cherita made the decision to surrender herself to Christ.

Each experience developed her spiritually in order to strengthen her connection with God. She is hoping that by sharing her tough experiences, she can inspire others to do the same. That is the message that Cherita lives by.

Her mission statement on her website is as follows: “As Founder/CEO of Independent Living After The Storm, I see an opportunity in every problem that we as humans face from day-to-day. I have great foresight and can see things up ahead. My mind is stretched by all the experiences life has thrown my way. My life choices and experiences are sunshine mixed with rain, creating a beautiful rainbow.”

Cherita is the pioneer of the Independent Living After The Storm Transitional Living Program. This is a pro bono organization designed to cater to women’s and children’s needs. It has become a staple part of Cherita’s life alongside her four boys. She wants everyone to know ‘anything is possible.’
