Today’s special guests on Celebrity Myxer are cast members from John Singleton’s Snowfall TV series which premieres season two on FX! It follows parallel stories of rising drug dealers and their collision courses. It’s set in the early 80’s illustrating the rise of crack cocaine in L.A. The lead character’s drug business is growing rapidly and he must deal with the pains of an expanding drug enterprise. We had the pleasure to grace the red carpet premiere of season two and conduct Snowfall cast member interviews. John Singleton Interview On Snowfall Season 2 Premiere
John Singleton, best known for Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, Baby Boy and more feature films is the show’s creator and one of the series’ directors. We asked him about actor selection, the inception of the series and here’s how he described transitioning from major motion pictures to television:
“We’re giving you all a movie every week when you see this. It was a lot of fun and challenging for myself as a filmmaker to do that.”
Dave Andron Interview On Snowfall Season 2 Premiere
Dave Andron, Producer on the show, has an extended background in television. He previously finished producing the FX series ‘Justified’. This was his first time collaborating with John Singleton and they connected very well. He spoke on giving Snowfall the FX effect, the effects of the crack cocaine plague, and helping bring the story to life.
Damson Idris Interview On Snowfall Season 2 Premiere
Damson Idris, who plays the lead role of Franklin Saint in Snowfall, spoke on honing his craft as an actor while transitioning his character’s growth. Pulling inspiration from Denzel Washington’s character Frank Lucas in American Gangster and Bryan Cranston’s character Walter White in Breaking Bad. He even spoke on speech dialect training- one of his top questions. He has a deep English accent yet on a drop of a dime he can shift to south central L.A. slang with ease.
Carter Hudson Interview On Snowfall Season 2 Premiere
Carter Hudson, who plays a CIA operative Teddy McDonald, gave us tidbits on the level of research he put into his character. Like most of us, he too was shocked to learn our government was deeply involved in the crack cocaine epidemic. He spoke about the change within his character both physically and mentally from freshman to sophomore seasons.
Angela Lewis Interview On Snowfall Season 2 Premiere
Angela Lewis, who plays Auntie Louie, elaborates how the series will give us a deeper look into “Auntie.”
