Big Sky Season 3 Episode 8 Recap “Duck Hunting”

Watch Big Sky Season 3 Episode 8 “Duck Hunting”

Previously on Big Sky Season 3 Episode 7, When shocking new evidence surfaces from the “Bleeding Heart Murder Case,” Jenny and Beau team up with Cassie and achieve a major breakthrough. Buck struggles with his moral ambiguity, and cracks begin to form in his and Sunny’s marriage.

On Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 Episode 8 “Duck Hunting” Guest Starring Darius Rucker as Possum, Paige tells Luke that she wants her journal back, but he swears he doesn’t have it. Walter threatens Luke with a hatchet saying he should have killed Luke when he had the chance. Walter gives Luke a head start, and Luke takes off through the woods. 

Not-So-Happy Campers

Emily comes running back to camp hysterically. She tells her dad that she followed Luke into the woods, got lost, and stumbled upon Mary’s dead body. Beau, Jenny, and Deputy Poppernak are setting up a temporary command center to start interrogating the campers and begin combing through the crime scene. Beau and Jenny are shocked to bump into Donno and Tonya at Sunny Day Excursions. 

The Rangers have blocked off the access road. Sunny is so mad at Buck for killing Mary for no reason and bringing her dead body back to camp. Buck explains that he had to bring her back, so everybody would see him holding her in case their DNA was on each other

Sitting around the fireside, Beau and Jenny question the campers individually. During their talks, they find out that Luke and Paige stole $15 million dollars worth of cryptocurrency, that Mary and Paige did not like each other, and a lot of people do not trust Luke. 

Lies On Top Of Lies

Cormac and Cassie are flirting in the bar when he brings up the truck that Cassie is looking for that Buck sold. Cassie admits to Cormac that she doesn’t trust Buck. Jenny and Beau stumble upon Luke’s dead body with an arrow sticking out of his neck. Jenny tells Cassie to look for Cormac, but Cassie was with him last night. 

Jenny and Beau split Donno and Tonya up for their interrogation. Tonya tells Beau that he should be looking at Avery as he was the one person who spent the most time with Luke. Beau asks Poppernak to look into Carla and Avery. When Poppernak finds out that Avery is being investigated, he warns Beau. Beau tells Jenny to question Carla while he questions Avery.

Cormac realizes his parents have been lying to him about Buck’s prescription, Buck selling the truck, and now he finds a picture of his mom holding a baby that isn’t him. Sunny explains that Buck needed more pills because he dropped some down the drain, and the picture is of Cormac’s cousin. He doesn’t believe either one of them and walks out. 

Too Easy

Buck tells Sunny that she needs to let Walter go and blame Luke and Paige’s death. That’s what Buck is going to do. When Cassie and Jenny question Buck about the truck he said he sold, he admits to knowing the man in the picture. He’s going to sacrifice Walter to save Sunny and Cormac. Carla is angry when Beau is the one that tells her that Avery is being investigated and asks him to stay at a hotel. 

Possum kills a Ranger that won’t let him and Tony pass on through. Cormac shows Jenny the unmarked trails on the map. He tells them that’s where they should start checking for the man they are hunting down. 

Walter walks out on the front porch, all friendly and finds Beau, Jenny, and Cassie with their guns pointed straight at him. Jenny and Cassie think something is amiss after Walter willingly goes with them. They stand in the front yard discussing it with Beau while other cops search Walter’s place for Paige. Sunny watches it all go down.
