On Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 Episode 4, as Jody Cutter cooks and cleans her kitchen, a man in an animal mask watches her. When she takes the garbage out, the lights go off, and the man is standing in front of her holding a knife.

Safe and Sound

Deputy Poppernak, Beau, and Jenny question the dead woman’s family, and Beau tells Jenny that something is off with the whole house. Sunny is a little worried because Buck missed breakfast, and she can’t find him. Cormac tells her that he’s headed into town for a supply run, and Sunny reminds him to keep his mouth shut about what is going on at Sunny Day Excursions.

Emily asks Sunny about Paige, and Sunny lies. She says that Paige made it home safe and sound to New York, and Emily shouldn’t worry anymore. One of the dead woman’s neighbors has security camera footage of the man in the animal mask with blood on his arm, leaving the scene.

Carla, Beau’s ex-wife, shows up at the station before heading to meet Emily and Avery at Sunny Day Excursions. She is worried about the missing camper Paige, Beau convinces her that everything is fine. Sunny finds Buck, who is angry with her about Walter. He reminds Sunny that Walter killed his adoptive parents and burned their house down while he watched. He tells Sunny that she needs to take care of Walter, or he will.

Ren Bhullar

Jenny and Beau show Autumn, Jody’s daughter, a picture of the man in the animal mask to see if she recognizes him. Autumn and her boyfriend, Derrick, tell them that they caught her mom with another man a month ago. Autumn thinks her mom is having an affair. An associate of Ren Bhullar shows up at Tonya’s diner, asking for their help. The man wants Donno and Tonya to bring Paige and Luke to him.

In town, Cormac bumps into Cassie, who is shopping for rope so she can repel down Dead Man’s Drop to look for the missing hiker, Mark. Cormac offers to go with her. Sunny tells Walter that he has to move to the cabin down by the creek because people will come looking for Paige. Sunny becomes upset when she spots a shirt covered in blood, and Walter explains that it was Mark’s.

Jenny and Beau track down the man, and he tells them that he sold Jody the animal mask the man is wearing on the neighbor’s surveillance footage. Jenny and Beau show up at Grant Cutter’s job (portrayed by George Newbern.) He’s Jody’s husband, but Grant is gone. Instead, they find Scott, his coworker, who tells them that he was with Grant all night except when Grant left to get pizzas.

Finally Found

Jenny and Beau cannot find Grant and head back to his house. As soon as they walk in, they find blood and follow the trail to find Grant, bloody and barely alive. Donno and Tonya discuss if they will take the man up on his offer, and Donno wants to know what Tonya is doing with Gigi, Jenny’s mother. At the hospital, Grant tells Jenny and Beau that his co-worker Scott is in love with Autumn and kidnapped her.

Emily talks to Luke, and he explains that Paige really did leave him while they were fighting in the woods, but he knows there’s someone else hiding in the woods. Jenny and Beau head back to the Cutter’s house to look for Grant and find a secret, hidden room.

  2. Sheila Looseemore says:

This episode was so confusing. How can anyone plan a kidnapping in someone else’s home in a secret room? How is it that Reba can walk anywhere in the woods in an hour and the others need off-road vehicles to get there? This episode was the worst. Reba, and her wicked smile, needs to stay in the woods.
