On 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 3, as the citywide blackout continues to cause mayhem in Los Angeles, Athena races to save her family from a tragedy. Meanwhile, Eddie must make a difficult choice about his future, and Maddie makes a life-changing decision.

On 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 4, Han vigorously analyzed Maddy’s video to see if someone was forcing her to create it (and possibly abducted her.) He suspected “Doug” but Buck (Evan Buckley, Maddy’s brother) told him that Doug was dead! Buck explained, sometimes Maddy needs distance, and to give her time as she will return home. He knows how his sister operates…

Han found a hospital bill where Maddy had taken their daughter to the ER. It was dated the day before she left. He had a thread to pull on…

Han hunted down the physician who treated Maddy and their daughter. However, patient confidentiality made the woman stonewall him. He tearfully pleaded with her for information. The woman felt his story and told him that Maddy brought the baby in because she slipped underwater during a bath while on Maddy’s watch. He was thankful for some glimmer of information in the situation.

Han came to tell Buck about the hospital visit. The exchange revealed that Buck already knew about the baby and Maddy had come to him. He was pissed Buck knew for the past week and didn’t tell him the truth. Han punched Buck in the face, telling him, “I’m not OK!” And he left!

Buck went to Diaz for counseling about the situation. Buck was convinced Maddy would be fine. But Diaz convinced him that Han cannot share that same sentiment.

Han packed up his child and aimed to head out of town. He called Wilson but she happened to be stopping by his place. She requested to tag along. Han set out on a solo mission to find his wife, Wilson tearfully understood and made him promise to return…

The Prodigal’s Daughter Returns Home

The 911 operator team marveled at the prodigal’s daughter, Claudette Collins. She had returned to the call center. She was a rockstar at her position. May was impressed at her skill set in helping people in need. Everyone gave her a standing ovation for her work. She had banter with the teammates with who she was previously acclaimed but threw shade at May for being so young.

Later on, Athena returned home to find the slain rapist Hudson’s prints on her photos. She washed them off and decided to cleanse everything in the house. When Nash came home, Athena was upset at failing her son allowing the rapist to infiltrate their home.

May went to visit Harry to talk. Harry revealed his parents are now hovering over him. He was upset his father never noticed the man and his mother was the reason it happened.

Crashing Homecoming

Capt Nash rescues a trapped man on 9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 4

It was an exciting homecoming football game. An elderly woman jumped into her classic Cadillac and started driving… slowly of course. Some douchebag got behind her and was impatient so he swerved around her, turning the corner where the homecoming street blockade was. He tried to stop but the brakes were out! He crashed right into the adolescents!

The 911 call center received mass causality reports and dispatched the 118 team. They discovered the driver was deceased and went to help other people. They found one girl dead and another still alive and exported her. They also found a teacher who was trapped under crushed bleachers, he couldn’t feel anything and was possibly paralyzed!

While they were rescuing the trapped man, the truck started fuming gases and Nash warned everyone out of the area as it was about to explode!

The 911 call center phoned nearby residents and businesses to shelter in place and avoid the hazardous leaked material in the area. May gave a caller an estimation of it being cleared and Claudette interjected her call- informing her to stick to the script and not overpromise people. The 118 team managed to get the man free while the hazardous material was contained…

It’s Not Her

At the hospital, the girl who survived the crash was Makayla. And her friend, Cassey, didn’t make it- passing on the scene. Wilson and Diaz greeted Makayla’s grieving parents. Suddenly, the girl who passed, Cassey’s parents showed up and were extremely regretful for not being there for her events. Diaz took them to identify their daughter, however, it wasn’t her. The deceased child was Makayla!

It was confirmed by the coroner. The family had an affinity towards Wilson and she decided to break the bad news to them and apologized for her mistake. When Wilson rescued the girl and asked her name, Cassey kept saying “Makayla” being worried about her friend. Makayla was deceased and the girl they were consoling was fully wrapped in bandages and badly bruised so they couldn’t fully see her face. This broke the family down, however, they had to muster the strength to properly identify their deceased daughter…
