Watch 61st Street Season 1 Episode 5 “Over The Wall”
Previously on the 61st Street Season 1 Episode 4, while waiting for bond, Moses adjusts to jail. Brannigan opens up to Logan. After stumbling on evidence of police misconduct, Franklin continues to put together a defense. Joshua makes a discovery.

On 61st Street Season 1 Episode 5, Franklin comes home to find cops at his house and Martha is hysterical. David is okay in his room but scared. In prison, someone sets Moses’s cellmate on fire.
Not Guilty
Moses tells Franklin someone was trying to kill him, Moses is scared. Franklin tells Moses the prosecutor’s office has offered a plea deal of 20 years.
At court, the judge asked Moses if he will accept the plea deal or not. Moses says no, he’s not guilty! Moses is taken back to jail.
Franklin is told he has multiple cancerous tumors on his tailbone and spine. It’s at an advanced stage. He doesn’t have more than 18 months to live. Martha in Franklin hold each other as they cry.
Meet Squeeze
Franklin sees Calvin trying to buy drugs on the street and panics. Franklin needs his star witness to be clean.
Brannigan and Johnny head to a local restaurant to get money from Squeeze. Branigan tells Squeeze Johnny will be doing the pickups from now on.
When Johnny and Branigan come out of the restaurant some locals harass them and start joking about Michael’s death. Johnny loses it and starts beating one of them.
Dante’s Offer
Walking through the jail yard Moses gets multiple death threats. Moses is being transferred. Moses is taken to Speaks, his father has stepped in.
Franklin tries to talk to David about his cancer diagnosis. It doesn’t happen as Franklin is overwhelmed with emotions.
Johnny is hanging out with one of Michael’s kids. Dante the leader of the Nation makes contact with Johnny and has a message for Branigan. The Nation will pay five points more than the Faction. The Nation wants the free pass from the cops the Faction has been receiving.
Brannigan Knows
Janet tells Martha that Josh is selling drugs to pay for Moses his defense. Janet doesn’t want people to forget that Tutu was murdered by the police.
Norma speaks at the barbecue to raise funds for Moses’s defense and rally the community behind Moses.
At Michael and Jessica’s house, Branigan overhears one of Michael’s kids making jokes and playing about cops who wear wires. Brannigan asks Johnny how Michael’s kids would know the phrase cup with a wire. Johnny tells Branigan that Michael died wearing a wire! Johnny lies and tells Branigan he talked to the wire. Brannigan doesn’t buy it. Johnny tells Branigan about Dante’s offer.
Johnny and Jessica
Nicole Carter from the Upright Justice Program introduces herself to Franklin and Norma. Nicole tells Franklin she can help him when Moses his case.
Josh drops a huge wad of money into the collection plate for Moses.
Johnny is helping Jessica clean up after the party. Jessica tends to Johnny’s hurt hand from his street fight. Johnny and Jessica go to kiss and are interrupted by Branigan. Johnny gives Jessica the recordings of Michael’s.
Over The Wall
Franklin finds a shot-spotter in the neighborhood. Franklin explains it records shots fired in the area. Moses claims that a cop shot at him. The shot-spotter can prove it and that’s why the prosecutor offered Moses a plea deal.
Everyone on Moses’s new block is in the Nation and gives Speak and Moses respect. Speak tells Moses it was the guards working with the Faction who tried to kill Moses.
Franklin brings Calvin to the scene and has Calvin react the scene out. Calvin says a cop shot at Moses when Moses jumped over the wall. Calvin says the cop didn’t shoot out the wall but over the wall. Franklin chips on top of the containers that form the wall, the bullet is gone.
You’re Not My Dad
At the debate, Martha brings up Rufus Porter (Tutu) to her opponent. Martha explains that the justice system needs to start over from scratch.
Franklin can’t bring himself to tell his son, David, he’s dying of cancer. Speak tells Moses he should have taken the plea deal and becomes upset that Moses won’t call him dad. Moses tells Speak, he hasn’t been a dad for a long time.
