40 Percent Of Coronavirus Cases Recovered

In good news regarding COVID-19, just over 40 percent of reported cases have recovered worldwide according to the stats. At the time of this analysis, more than 204,000 cases were reported globally and more than 82,000 cases were reported as recovered around the globe. China has reported more than 87 percent of cases recovered, most experienced mild symptoms.

Many people focus on the mortality rate, and although it is disheartening for loss of life, it is lower in comparison to related coronaviruses like SARS and MERS. COVID-19 is currently experiencing a 4 percent mortality rate. SARS had a mortality rate of 10 percent in 2003, and MERS had a mortality rate of 35 percent in 2012 according to the CDC. In theory, the numbers suggest this virus is less deadly than predecessors. However, the number of those infected and have died from COVID-19 is exponentially higher than previous bugs. At the time of this analysis, more than 8,200 people have died from COVID-19 complications. This is mainly the reason why it is labeled of higher importance to medical experts.
